Dear Mette, thank you for your review, though we talked with you about your experience here, and we agreed this winter was quite extreme everywhere in matter of weather: we went minus 18 degrees on Ærø. Badehotel is right on the sea and when it is windy from North, it can be challenging. Our guests are free and more than welcome to adjust the radiators in each room and bathroom any time, day and night. Although, the cleaning staff turns the radiators on 2 , after her work around midday, in a 2square meters toilette... It is also a matter of respect for the environment.
Many photos of the rooms are available on Facebook and Google, you chose the cheapest room saying that was good for you... actually you didn’t want to see any other room: we believe you shouldn’t generalize your judgment. Also because this is quite in contrast with your words to us: “ oh, it is so nice to come in and all the candles and the warmth; it feels like coming back home!”
Laying down on the sofa in the library, with a book in your hands, you were also very happy to meet the children and the guests of the brunch happening in the restaurant: it was the 2nd morning of your stay.
Your review sounds more like a kind of revenge for a too little discount; discount requested on the basis that there were no other guests; discount given to show we care about our guests’ happiness, surely not given because feeling neglecting you.
We could also write a lot about our breakfast based on Italian fresh products, bread baked in our kitchen, omelette with vegetables, typical carnival pastries and so on, but yes, we do not serve pancakes and we do not buy our breakfasts somewhere else...
Yes, we can’t create more guests in the middle of January, and it is probably a naive attitude to guarantee a service no matter the seasons; but please don’t say that there is no typical badehotel’s atmosphere at Badehotel Harmonien at Ærøskøbing: this is simply false!
