No product & no refund!
I am disappointed that, after receiving an email stating they cannot ship the product to my country, which I selected from the options at checkout, I have yet to receive a refund after requesting one 3 times. Eighteen days have passed since the first email contact, let alone almost a month since the order confirmation, and five days since the PayPal case was opened, with no reply or even any acknowledgment.

Great Comfort and Features — But the Wake-Up Light Was Too Subtle for Me
I’ve been using the Aura sleep mask for several days, primarily because I wanted the wake-up light feature to gently wake me in the morning. The mask itself is comfortable, the app is easy to use, and the light functions properly during breathing exercises — so the hardware works.
However, despite turning on both the Wake Up Light and Glow features and setting brightness to the highest level, the light has not been strong enough to wake me up. For me, that was the main reason for purchasing the mask, so this has been disappointing.
Additionally, I’ve reached out to customer support regarding this issue and have not yet received a response, which adds to the frustration — especially given the limited return window.
If you’re a lighter sleeper or primarily interested in relaxation features and soundscapes, this may work well for you. But if your main goal is to rely on the light alone as a wake-up alarm, it may be too subtle.
From Lover to Hater because HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE
I was an original Kickstarter backer in 2023 and my first Aura sleep mask I loved so much that I posted on social media that everyone should get one! However the straps wore out after wearing ten hours a day for two years so I went to order a replacement. First their customer service took weeks to return an email before I even ordered. Then when my second Aura arrived it was defective, with one side of the mask's speakers not working at all. I emailed two different Aura customer service emails for help and it took them weeks to respond in the first place, even though it was in the first thirty days and well within the one year manufacturer warranty replacement period. Nevertheless it has now been two months with emails back and forth with this horrendous customer service and still no replacement device has been sent. So, now I am going back on my social medias and recommending absolutely NO ONE order from this company. Although the product when it works as directed is a GEM of a product, if there are any issues whatsoever it will take an act of God for them to work with you in a timely or professional manner. Absolutely not what I paid $300 for. I paid for a mask, not a continuing inbox fight and professional negligence and neglect.
Great idea, implementation needs improvement
Purchased the Aura sleep mask. It has compelling features not available in other products but I think it will be much better after a few model generations. Pro: the program sound when turned to low is plenty loud enough for the user without being audible to your bunkmate; I did fall asleep to several of the programs. Frustrations include: turning down the speaker volume beeps and it takes some setup with your phone screen on which both wake up your bunkmate so had to get up and go into the bathroom to quietly get it going; tried it about a 8 times and half of those times couldn’t use it because of battery issues or just giving up from the frustration or having to mess around so much that you end up missing the alarm setting; a lot of programs but not very many use the light feature. The mask didn’t fit me well and kept trying to slip off the curve of my head; the foam face cushion is a nice idea but the magnets aren’t strong enough so it slips around and takes some fuss to block light; the lights do not dim and brighten smoothly; you can’t program your own lights; if you wake-up in the night there’s no quick function to play something to return to sleep, you have to restart the main program and alarm; the start button hidden under the foam in the middle of your face is unnecessarily awkward; the app menu to build your dreamscape doesn’t indicate which programs have sound; would prefer more non-talking programs with lights; only was able to experience the sunrise alarm without the mask coming off once or twice and it was a very abrupt 5 min or less brightening which was a huge let down for someone who loves sunrise alarms and was primarily looking for one that doesn’t wake their partner. And they have a 30 day return but you can’t actually return it if you’ve tried it and discovered these issues. I sadly, very disappointedly cannot recommend the Aura sleep mask at this time and am out $250 and stuck with this frustrating and disappointing early model.

I really love my Aura mask. My perception of the company behind it is that they are a small team, but a sincere and responsive one that is eager to help. I've seen reviews from users who have had trouble with the app due to interference from Android or iOS's battery optimization "improvements," but I found that the team's email support was super helpful with troubleshooting when I reached out to them after having this problem myself. The issue ended up being a quick fix, and now everything works fantastically! I am rooting for the Aura team to keep growing and continue being awesome, because I would love to see that growth reflected in their lovely library of meditations, soundscapes, etc.
WASTED MONEY
This is the worst product I have ever purchased in my life. When new, there was a one in five chance it would actually work in the morning. Two months in and one speaker stopped working. Three months in and it stopped charging and the straps started to fall apart. Do NOT waste your money on this mask.

Their return policy is fraudulent. They boast a 30 Day Home Try with a 100% refund if you are not satisfied.
WHAT A JOKE. The below quotes are from their website. Please note that your return is subject to inspection - so if you pay for shipping to return the product and they reject the refund, YOU WASTED MONEY ON SHIPPING AND THEY KEEP YOUR PRODUCT!!

Rectified their mistake.
They had initially charged double the shipping. They did rectify it with a refund of half the shipping. $24 is still pricey for shipping in the US but I didn't have to pay it. Their customer service DID come back to me and offer me free shipping on the next order (though how many eye masks will I really need?) so you can trust them.

Even more disconcerting is that when I submitted a one star review, it doesn’t show up on the product page. Any reviews that aren’t five stars seem to be suppressed, which is disconcerting.
Issues abound — completely unusable
Where to begin? Bought this with high hopes but the light bar is at my eyebrows, so it’s less effective and I can’t push it lower because my nose blocks it. For the price, there are so many things that should feel better. The battery is completely defective. One day old and it doesn’t take a charge. In less than a minute it went from 100% to 21%. Can’t use it overnight because it just starts repeating a low battery warning. I really, really wanted to like this but will probably going to initiate a chargeback request.

I recently purchased the Aura Sleep Mask, and overall, it has been a great addition to my sleep routine. Made a purchase in March and still using it every sleep. I’ve struggled with insomnia for years, waking up in the middle of the night and unable to fall back asleep. I tried everything, from medications to meditation, but nothing seemed to work long-term. Then I found the Aura sleep mask, and it has been a game changer. Its soothing sounds and complete blackout effect helped me relax and stay asleep through the night. For the first time in years, I wake up refreshed and ready for the day.
