My car had to go back five times in two months. after the initial rebuild. Each time being told I needed a new battery. I had the battery checked by three independent garages all said there was nothing wrong with it. The fourth time they sent it back they had changed the battery. Guess what? The issue was still there. So I took it to a different VW/Audi specialist who found the problem within 10 minutes, no joke, ten minutes. A loose earth cable on the gear box!!! Seriously!

Then six months later, it had to go back again because the seal had failed draining the gearbox of all its oil. I really do think they just used normal household sealant.

The final straw was two weeks after the 12 month warranty ran out the sealant failed again. So same issue, but no, they wanted to charge me full price for the totally sub standard job they did in the first place.

Do not use this over priced bunch of cowboys.
If I could give no stars I would, as they do not deserve the one that I HAVE to give them.

This experience took place between June and Sept 2023. However a person from ASR told me if I wrote a review they would not honour my warranty!! So I had to take it down. So I'm posting it now. I hope this really helps someone.

Thank you ASR for the excellent customer service we received for our daughter and the specialist gearbox repairs to her car. She is so pleased to have her car back repaired, it is her pride and joy and before contacting ASR she was so worried that she may not have the use of her car again; she is absolutely delighted it is back running properly again which hopefully it will for many more years.
We highly recommend ASR for anyone requiring specialist gearbox repairs.

The best service i have ever received from a car repair expert. The gear box of my 10 year plus aged Juke need immediate repair as i was leaving for a 3 week expedition to the Arctic and need a rapid turn round of the repair a we live in village remote from ANY public transport and my wife needed transport in my absence. Elliot (Sales Advisor) dealt personally with the issue. From first discussion collected the car on the evening of Friday 5 June and it was returned to me on Monday 5 June complete with a new gear box in perfect condition in time for my leaving for the Arctic on 17 June. i have no hesitation in recommending ASR to anyone in need of car repair.

I had a completely undrivable Peugeot van due to a damaged part. Peugeot said they wouldn’t repair, they would only replace the automatic transmission £7,000 plus vat😱 ASR gave me a best & worse case cost. They picked up my van, fixed it and returned it at the best case cost. They were honest, courteous and kept me informed. They carried out the work promptly. Since the repair they have checked in with me to make sure I am satisfied with the repair and service, which I am. Would definitely recommend.

Picked up my car and dropped it off and got my gearbox sorted quickly. Very much appreciated considering I couldn't find any other garages locally to sort the issue. Good customer service talking through the issues with the car and the time frame in which it'll be sorted

This company organises free pick up and delivery within the quoted price. The whole process was professionally handled by Elliot, and schedule changes required from our end were smoothly dealt with.
Car now running well.
Can't comment directly on the mechanical side of things but they did flag another issue (not in their scope) which did turn out to need addressing.

Great company explained in clear English what could be wrong with my gearbox. Great price as well, cheaper then others quotes? Dealt mostly with Chris who was great and really helpful also spoke to James once and he also was the really helpful. Work was done quick, pick up and drop off was also quick. Got my car back the next day after they received payment.
Can't fault this company work and everyone I dealt with was outstanding customer service.

Had my car repaired in October 2025, unfortunately in June of this year it developed a fault, contacted ASR and spoke to operations manager who talked me through what the problem could be ,explained the warranty process and gave an estimated cost if the problem was not covered by the warranty. He went above and beyond to assist me, gave me time to think through the options. Contacted Chris again and said would send car back to be looked at. It was quickly picked up and diagnosed with a sensor that had failed in the mechatronic unit. New part from Skoda fitted, car road tested, diagnostic redone no fault showing. Car will be back with me tomorrow with all work done under warranty Exceptional service, timely repair and the whole process was made easy by ASR .Many thanks guys.👍😊.

The service provided was excellent. I was kept up to date at all stages of the works and the pick up and drop off service meant the works could be done around my busy work schedule. I hope I won't need to use them again but would use them again in a heartbeat if I had to.

From my first point of contact and feeling a little overwhelmed I have been beyond satisfied with the service I have received from ASR. I dealt with Sonny who talked me through everything and was extremely knowledgable and his personable manner put me at ease.
My car was returned to me on schedule and I was kept informed every step of the way. Thank you ASR, I hope that I’m never in this predicament again but if I am I will be giving you a call.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I feel I need to warn others about my experience with this company.

The service I received was genuinely one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. I received no communication regarding the collection of my car. There was no invoice, no confirmation, and no updates. The only reason I knew my car was being collected was because the driver called me just 30 minutes beforehand.

To make matters worse, they delivered my car to a completely different centre than the one we had agreed on. The original location was around 40 minutes away, but they instead sent it to a centre over 2 hours away, causing a huge inconvenience.

Their pricing is also extremely high. I found they were charging nearly double what the main dealer quoted for the same work.

After I raised these issues, communication became even worse. I completely lost confidence in the company and decided to have my car returned without the repairs being carried out because I was concerned about the quality of the work and no longer trusted them. I found far better alternatives elsewhere.

My advice is to shop around, compare prices and avoid this company. Based on my experience, I would not recommend them.
