Extremely Disappointed After 15+ Years — Misleading Policies & No Resolution

I’ve been a loyal Ashley customer for over 15 years — starting with a mattress that lasted 10+ years. I recently purchased another mattress with a 90-day comfort guarantee that was explained to me in store. I followed every instruction, waited more than the 30-day break-in period, and then requested an exchange because the mattress caused severe back pain requiring a doctor visit.

Despite the written guarantee, I was first told I couldn’t exchange due to timing — then given conflicting information by multiple reps. I submitted photos and proof online, received a claim number, and then was told someone had to inspect the mattress — a requirement not disclosed in the paperwork and later denied by the manufacturer (Tempur-Pedic).

Every call has resulted in confusion, delays, and promises of follow-up that never happen. I’ve been left with a mattress that harms my health, no resolution, and the prospect of waiting weeks for an exchange — all while being told I must pay a $100 fee and any price difference.

After 15+ years as a repeat customer, I will never shop here again and strongly caution others to understand the fine print: Ashley does not honor its own exchange policies, lacks clear communication, and makes recovery from a bad purchase unnecessarily painful.

Beware of the Business and it's Employees

My experience with Ashley Furniture was one of the most disappointing and frustrating consumer experiences I have ever had. From the beginning, I was misled, pressured, and ultimately financially harmed by practices that felt deceptive and unethical.
I made it very clear to the sales representatives that I was in the process of purchasing a home and that I could not run my credit or commit to anything final at that time. I repeatedly explained that I was only in the shopping and planning phase, gathering information and pricing for the future. Despite this, Ashley Furniture employees reassured me—multiple times—that I was not making a final purchase and that my money would be fully refundable if I did not move forward.
Based on those assurances, I was encouraged to sign paperwork that was presented as routine or temporary. At no point was it clearly explained that I was entering into a binding contract that would prevent me from receiving a full refund. Had this been disclosed honestly and transparently, I would never have agreed to move forward.
Once I decided not to proceed—due to the very reasons I had explained upfront—the entire tone of the company changed. Suddenly, the promises I was given no longer mattered. Ashley Furniture refused to issue a proper refund, despite knowing that:
I had not received the furniture
I was not approved for or using financing
I was explicitly told the transaction was refundable
I was misled during the sales process
Instead of taking responsibility, they hid behind fine print that was never properly explained and used technicalities to justify keeping my money. This felt less like a misunderstanding and more like a deliberate bait-and-switch tactic designed to lock customers in before they fully understand the consequences.
What makes this situation even more unacceptable is that they knew my financial situation and still proceeded in a way that could have negatively impacted my home purchase. That level of disregard for a customer’s circumstances is alarming.
Ashley Furniture’s actions left me feeling lied to, misled, and taken advantage of. Keeping someone’s money under these circumstances is not only unethical—it’s wrong. Customer service was unhelpful, dismissive, and offered no real resolution.
I strongly caution anyone considering shopping at Ashley Furniture to:
Get everything in writing
Read every document thoroughly
Do not rely on verbal promises
Avoid signing anything unless you are 100% ready to commit
If you are in a sensitive financial position or simply browsing, do not trust that you will be protected as a customer. My experience shows that once they have your money, your concerns no longer matter.
I regret ever walking into Ashley Furniture and would never recommend this company to anyone.

NEVER BUY FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE

I purchased a bedroom set and one of the pieces was delivered broken. I called to ask for a replacement and they wouldn't replace it, instead insisting they needed to assess if it can be repaired (it can't). In order to return the product THEY DELIVERED BROKEN I have to pay a 10% restocking fee and $80 pick up. Terrible customer service, terrible products, would never purchase again.

Ashley’s customer service is the worst…

Ashley’s customer service is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with.

I bought a bed 6 months ago, and the drawer faces were installed crooked.
After 2 months, a technician came and confirmed it was defective and said parts needed to be ordered.

Then the nightmare started.

Over the next month, I received large, heavy boxes one by one, with no notice or explanation. Each time, I had to pick them up and drag them into my apartment myself — as if it was my fault Ashley sold me a defective product.

I tried to schedule a technician multiple times, and every appointment was canceled because they said more parts were needed — even though I already had everything at home.

The last time, I refused to let it go. They made me open all the boxes and list every part on the phone. Finally, they confirmed everything was there and scheduled a technician.

Two days before the visit, I received another huge box with another set of drawers, clearly because they didn’t trust my judgment. Again, I had to carry it upstairs myself.

Today, I worked from home to be available for the service.
The technician came, spent one hour, installed one drawer crooked again, and then said “it is what it is” and that he had to leave, this wasn’t in his schedule and he has done a favor to accept this so he refused to install the second drawer.

When I said I do not accept this after waiting 6 months, he told me he was scheduled for 20 minutes only and that there was “no issue.”

Ashley’s customer service has tortured me for 6 months. The department is extremely disorganized, and I was treated with disrespect multiple times.
The last customer service agent told me, “Our technician says everything is fine.”
Then why did your first technician admit it was defective and order parts?

I will let this go if I receive an official note from Ashley admitting the product that was sold to me is defective, and nothing can be done and they are sorry.

I regret not leaving this review earlier. I gave Ashley 6 months to fix one simple issue, and instead I was disrespected, ignored, and exhausted. I will never shop at Ashley again.

Bait and Switch Stock Claims - Ruined Holiday Plans
I am beyond frustrated with the service at Ashley’s Furniture. When I purchased my bedroom set, the store manager personally assured me they had "lots in stock" and that getting the full set delivered by my deadline wouldn't be a problem. I specifically needed this set for out-of-town guests staying with me for Christmas and New Year's.
The Timeline of Failures:
• 12/19/25: The night before my delivery, I received a text stating my headboard "did not come in." I was asked to accept a partial delivery, despite being promised the set was available when I paid.
• The Delay: I was told the headboard was on "extended delay" until December 27th—after my guests had already arrived.
• 12/28/25: It is now a day past that secondary deadline, and I still do not have a functional bed.
• Damaged Goods: To make matters worse, when some parts for the headboard finally did arrive, they were visibly damaged. I am now stuck with broken components and an incomplete bed while my guests are sleeping in my home.
Lack of Accountability
I reached out to express how disappointing and inconvenient this is. Even after speaking with another manager, Joshua, the only solution offered was a refund on the delivery charges. Guess what? That charge still hasn’t been reversed.
This feels like a classic bait-and-switch: tell the customer it’s in stock to secure the sale, then fail to deliver when it matters most. Between the dishonest stock claims, the damaged parts, the borderline harassing AI chatbox, and the zero accountability shown by management, this has been a nightmare.
If you have a firm deadline or expect honesty, do not shop here.

Terrible Experience – Never Buying from Ashley Store Kennesaw, GA (Town Center) again


I spent three hours in the store carefully choosing all the furniture for my home. They placed my order, but later I realized that several items were missing and they had added a protection plan I never agreed to. I went back to the store, they re-did my order, and supposedly fixed everything.

Then came the delivery nightmare. I lost a day of work waiting for my furniture. They split my order into two separate deliveries — the first one arrived, but the second was pushed back by several weeks. After complaining, they scheduled another delivery for today. Once again, I took the day off work, but the truck never showed up on time. Then I received a call from the store saying my order had been split again, and I would have to wait even longer — still without a bed and mattress.

I’ve been sleeping on the floor for weeks, waiting for the bed and mattress I paid for. They sold me items they don’t actually have in stock and are holding customers hostage for weeks just to complete a delivery. This whole experience has cost me financially because I’ve had to miss work, and the constant delivery delays have been incredibly stressful. It’s cold, and I risk getting sick because I’m still without a bed.

Never again will I buy from Ashley Store. They sell what they don’t deliver, and their customer service is completely unreliable.

If there were a -5 rating

If there were a -5 rating, I would definitely give it to you.
Two drawers of the cabinet were broken. Why didn’t you check them before loading? How is this customer service, sending damaged items and making me spend so much time waiting for them to be repaired? This is basically fraud.

Second, you delivered a mattress with a hole. For whatever reason, if your delivery team is not professional, why should the customer bear the loss? It’s completely clear that the mattress was torn during moving.

All your services are terrible, and I am completely regretful for buying from you.

White Glove Delivery is FALSE ADvertising

Ordered an adjustable base + bed on 8/24/25 for delivery 9/2/25 for $3,796.91 of which $299.99 was specifically for “White Glove Delivery Service.” Delivery men said there was no hardware to put the bed together and someone else would have to come out days later to put my bed together. They also told me Ashley Furniture only gives them 15-minutes to complete “white glove delivery service” including putting the bed together. It is now 9/14/25 and no one has come to bring the hardware and finish putting my bed together. It is a dangerous hazard climbing in and out of the bed, and I have a young child who has been hurt 4 times trying to get in my bed as well.

I call the 1-800# but get hung up on by the “virtual assistant Ashley” chatbot. I cannot get ahold of a live human being. The text message is a Jenny chatbot as well. I have asked for a manager to call me. Nothing but crickets! At this point, refund me the $299.99 white glove delivery service fee, and give me the hardware for my bed so I can find someone else to finish putting it together. I purchased this bed 21 days ago and I regret it! I should have read the “lowest ratings” reviews on Google instead of the “newest” Google reviews.

They said their truck broke down Fri 9/5 when they were supposed to bring the hardware, then claimed they were coming 9/6 with the hardware and to finish putting my bed together. It is now Sunday 9/14/25 and no response, no hardware, no update, no respect, nothing! They also left trash and random pieces of wood and styrofoam all on my floor, plus a huge box full of something else against my room wall by the door which is another huge eyesore and hazard as well.

Their automated chatbots and ai-technology integration are useless trash! I will NEVER EVER order anything from this company ever again! This service is subpar, substandard, deplorable, extremely frustrating and disappointing.

Charged for what we thought was a gift

We were able to purchase a very nice bookshelf from Ashley furniture. It was a very good price and quality. Our salesman was amazing to work with us to get what we needed.

However, when we checked out we were apparently charged for a cleaning kit for the bookcase. No one told us that we were being charged for it. When my husband picked it up, they handed him the cleaning kit and was told it was a free gift. Admittedly, we should have looked at the receipt sooner but we didn’t. When we called to check what we could do, we were told nothing could be done because it was past the 10 days. We have not used the kit and really don’t need it. We’re mainly just upset that they lead us to believe that it was a free gift. FYI - the salesman knew we had a bit of a tight budget so they should have made it very clear that we were paying for this.

What a nightmare with ASHLEY HOME…

What a nightmare with ASHLEY HOME FURNISHINGS!
I ordered a power recliner supposed to be delivered between 10-12 noon,but guess what they must put a delete timer on the texts they send so you have no proof! So take a photo of every thing they send you. It didn’t arrive it’s now 1:55pm and still not here. Several phone calls with ASHLEY HOME FURNISHINGS. TOTAL waste of time. I’ve spent 2 hours fighting with them, transferred multiple times. Only received lies and BS.
what a terrible company definitely NOT TO BE TRUSTED. So far they are saying they cannot cancel. Last conversation she told me Henry will call you in 5 minutes. GUESS WHAT they lied again.
If you want a trustworthy company DO NOT USE ASHLEY HOME FURNISHINGS.

I have been to the store in Albuquerque…

I have been to the store in Albuquerque at least four times regarding the rugs. They were ordered in mid May and I was told to expect delivery within ten days. They did not come. I kept calling. No one could tell me the status so I bought rugs elsewhere. Two months late they showed up. The delivery person never rang the bell so I had no opportunity to refuse delivery. I called and was told they would have to be returned to the store which was a huge hassle. I did return them and was told I would receive a refund in a few days. I returned to the store two weeks later and was told they had no record of the return. Again I was told a return was issued after the store manager talked to my sales person and confirmed the rugs were returned. I also ordered a different smaller rug at this time. I came in two weeks later. Still no refund and initially no one could find the record of the return or the order for the new rug. The manager was quite rude. He said he could see the return. There was zero record of the rug I ordered. He has no idea when I would get a return. That was two weeks ago. Hate this store. They are the worst. NEVER EVER ORDER FROM THEM!

I purchased a couch and love seat from Ashley's in fred'burg Va 22401 Central Park in Feb. 2025. It was damaged during delivery. On TWO separate occasions a tech was suppose to come out & fix it. Both times after taking off from work they cancelled the day of the repair through text messages. They then offer a new couch as a replacement. I took off to receive the "new" couch. It never made if off the truck B/c it had black marks throughout the material. The SECOND "new" couch offer never made it off the truck. There was a huge hole in the in the couch. The THIRD "new" couch made it off the truck to the parking lot and it wasnt a new couch at all because you could see where it had been repaired due to a difference in the material. THEN AGAIN a manager offered to see if she could get me a discount on the couch since I was using their credit system/card. She never called me back and when I attempted to reach her. I was again told a manager would reach out to me but guess what....lol! This begin in Feb and continued through June 2025.
I promise to just drive to the store whenever the feeling hits me and make sure everyone entering the store knows my experience with the company. I am definitely more than willing to match their level of petty.

A Traumatizing Experience at Ashley Furniture – Miramar Rd, San Diego

I am writing this review not just as a customer, but as a deeply shaken and humiliated individual. What was meant to be an exciting day of picking out furniture for our new home turned into a nightmare that left my entire family—especially my young children—traumatized.
On June 16th, we visited the Ashley Furniture store on Miramar Road in San Diego. The store was completely empty—there wasn’t a single other customer in sight. We walked around for about 10–15 minutes and quickly identified three items we wanted to purchase: two chairs and a table. We approached a salesperson named Momo and informed him of our decision.
From the start, he seemed visibly displeased that we were only purchasing a few items, despite the fact that we were just getting started with furnishing our entire home. Nevertheless, we proceeded with the transaction. When we reached the cashier and I began filling out my information, I politely asked Momo not to add me to any marketing lists—a simple, common-sense request.
At that moment, something completely unprovoked and disturbing happened. Momo suddenly snapped. He began yelling and screaming at me in front of my wife and children, claiming I was the most “difficult customer” he had ever dealt with. I was stunned—I hadn’t even spoken to him much before this moment, let alone said or done anything inappropriate. The entire encounter up until then had been quick, polite, and uneventful.
The verbal aggression was so intense, loud, and public that my children were visibly shaken and began crying. My family and I were publicly humiliated and emotionally distressed in a way that I never imagined possible while shopping for furniture.
I immediately asked to speak to the manager, who shockingly admitted that this was not the first time customers had complained about this same salesperson. Why is someone with a known pattern of abusive behavior still employed in a customer-facing role? Why has Ashley Furniture failed to act?
Even more disturbing, I cannot shake the feeling that this outburst was rooted in discrimination—I was treated with inexplicable hostility and disrespect, and I firmly believe that my race or background played a role in how I was spoken to and treated.
We left the store not only empty-handed, but deeply rattled. Since that incident, my children have been having nightmares, and my family continues to relive the trauma of that day. We were verbally attacked, publicly shamed, and emotionally scarred—all for trying to buy a few pieces of furniture.
I am currently consulting with legal counsel and intend to pursue a lawsuit against Ashley Furniture for emotional distress, public humiliation, and potential discrimination. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and Ashley must be held accountable for the toxic environment they allow in their stores.
To any potential customers reading this: beware. This is not just about poor customer service—this is about basic human decency. And Ashley Furniture, at least on Miramar Road, has failed us all.

Reguard extended warranty is fraud

My complaint is more about who they choose to use for extended warranty. Reguard Protection is a fraud who will do anything to not have to honor their contract.
I had an approved warranty claim. First they were gonna ship out replacement, no cost to me. Then WEEKS later they tell me item is discontinued. Then WEEKS later try to issue me a credit for the item. Problem being they shorted delivery. As far as Reguard is concerned if they replace it they cover delivery but if they can't replace it, you cover delivery.
That'll be an extra $300 out of my pocket for a warranty that only paid out $700.

I won't use ashley furniture again as long as Reguard is their extended warranty provider.

We are never buying from Ashley Furniture again!!!
2 months ago we bought dinning room table and 6 chairs. The first one delivered, had a corner broken, and someone tried to stick back on the table corner, and tape marks or something in some places on top of table. The guys that delivered left grease marks on one of the chairs. Called, got 2nd table delivered, there were small gouges out of the wood on the insert and the table next to insert. I called again, got 3rd table delivered, noticed the stain on top of table was going across the grain, not with the grain of the wood like it normally should be stained! I called, had tech. come out, said that is normal! I went to store where I bought it, that table has very, very faint stain marks! We are retired people, on a fixed income, we spent a lot of our money! The quality of their furniture is terrible!! Through the years we bought a lot of furniture from Ashley, their quality has gone down hill terribly!!!!
