We love having the girls in as they're both wonderful students and now confident in the way our projects are developed. Cant wait to see them all again soon and to see what they do next. As 'K and E' both do a marvellous job it would be lovely to see them soon in term time classes if and when all of your schedules suit you. Happy New Year and see you at the next one :)

That's lovely - thank you for writing this and I love to hear that 'T' enjoys it as he is doing a Brilliant job listening to the development tips in how to improve his shading and tips on painting etc too.
He should also be finishing his Life Drawing this week too which he has worked really well on and shown persistance when he is looking at scale and tone to greater develop his work and excel in his skills that he is constantly developing.
Amazing and lovely classes at ART K!
My 8 years old daughter love going to ART K ! She said it’s lovely and joyful 🥰 she likes learn new skills and techniques.

Ah I am so glad that she is enjoying it as she brings such a lovely energy to the class and so hard-working trying to do her best and listen to tips in how to improve certain things. This is also good as it shows as her skill set grows and by listening and developing her confidence does too.
Lovely to have her here and I look forward to seeing how her 3D Clay Tile develops. :)

Thank you for that kind comment, it is lovely to have 'S' with us and see his skills develop and his confidence grow as well. I cant wait to see how his Mark making and pool animal projects develop as his background of the coastline has almost finished and is looking great.
Art K classes for Children
My daughter has been attending Art K classes since September 23, and she loves it. She has a lot of fun and is slowly learning different art techniques, massively improving her art projects. I recommend it to all parents.

It is wonderful to see this and I am so happy to see 'E' enjoying it as much as she does whilst growing within her skill set and coming up with imaginative ways to implement ideas into her work and development. I cannot wait to see how her Advert Car and Cat Papier mache head works out as she has started building it now.

My daughter really enjoys her secondary school art lessons which are quite fun and also motivate her well to try new mediums. And Emma and other admin staffs helped me very patiently deal with some registration issue. I would definitely recommend Art K.

Emma is an absolutely amazing teacher, she is so nice too. It's such a pleasure for me to take my daughter to art every Thursday.
It's a really good place to take your kids if they like art, it really helps develop their skills.
I highly recommend signing your kids up for Art-K.

It is wonderful to see 'I." enjoying our classes and for her wonderful development in her Van Gough it is developing beautifully. It is lovely to hear from her that she enjoys coming and I look forward to what she completes next, her primary and secondary colours were beautifully delivered too.
Not ideal for adult learners
I feel a lot more interest and enthusiasm would need to be generated by staff towards student's learning goals to make this a fulfilling experience for adults. I didn't really feel my wish to learn was always met well. If anything my enthusiasm was dampened by these classes. To improve I think far more engagement, interest and indeed teaching needs to be given in line with what the adult wants to do. It seemed as if it was up to me to get anywhere with this, I didn't feel met half way and I wasn't very much encouraged.
Addressing the reply from ArtK I would like to make clear that I was invited to drop by on the phone when I rang to enquire about booking the classes. It was not a free 1 to 1 private session by any means and not worth £27.50. Moreover I have a flyer advertising free preliminary sessions for adults anyway, it says 'book your trial now' but that doesn't appear to be available on the website. So the idea I got this private consultation free is misleading, it was a chat, and there was another student there it wasn't one to one. I did not know ArkK had CCTV cameras recording students and if I had known I wouldn't have gone, I wouldn't have been comfortable doing my art on camera. Perhaps ArtK should be clear that they are recording people doing their art, some may not like it.
Re the alleged free and 'bespoke' materials these were some pencils which I returned and a rubber. Also I was given a drawing book but that's to be expected. I asked for work to do at home but felt somewhat ridiculed for it at times. I was told 'most people don't ask for homework' but I had paid and I wanted to learn and I wanted to practise at home. I was given some ideas to work with at home when I asked but I wouldn't say I was much encouraged.
This is not to say I learned nothing, I did learn but my initial review is truthful. When I spoke to customer service at ArtK about my experience they did not imply I was lying where here where I offer my honest review the respondent is almost saying 'CCTV footage shows you aren't truthful'. I have to say I find the involvement of CCTV here quite concerning. If I give Trustpilot a review I don't expect to be confronted with claims of evidence through me being recorded in a private learning setting in this very small studio. I'm relating my experience and you are trawling footage to deny what I say about my experience. ArtK should make it clear to customers that they are recording them throughout all the sessions. There should be some indication in the studio that CCTV cameras are recording.
Thank you for your reply. I won't be returning to ArtK especially given how my Trustpilot review has been handled as if it were a criminal case.

Thank you for taking the time to prepare and write your review. We take all reviews very seriously and look into the situation with everyone who was involved to make improvements where we can.
Reviews reflect a perception, and we always try to find the truth to help ourselves recover and build on what can be quite challenging comments. Everyone has a communication style, and as a teacher who is busy focusing on giving the best technical advice for all students equally, it can possibly lead to missing an individual’s personal communication style. We will work on this.
About being met half way.
New adult students that start with us are offered our 6-week standard art journey introduction (carefully prepared to engage and enthuse) OR we can meet a student’s personal preference. We can see on our CCTV that you visited our studio to talk to the art leader for more than 30 minutes for a one-to-one chat; we did not charge for this consultation but typical rates for a 30 min 1-1 private session would be £27.50. Our art leader heard that you wanted to break out in new creative directions from using predominantly pen. They prepared a bespoke course for you where you were individually tutored on shading / drawing techniques and introducing these into self-portraits followed by water colour techniques. You said you wanted to continue from home and we provided free materials for you to take home with you (again a bespoke service above our norm) - as a goodwill gesture to support a new student engaging with the arts for the first time and trying to support that. On this point ‘not being met half way’, (and including being taught) there is clear evidence to weigh in the balance of your suggestion.
Many artists spend years honing their skills and worry endlessly about their progress and have to find a way to channel this energy into a positive drive forward to explore, develop and improve. When this is where you are at, we are always open to a reproachment and welcome the opportunity to move your art experience forward in the future - there's much more to learn in the Adult art-K programme.
Excellent art classes in Southville!
My daughter has attended classes in Southville for over a year, both term time and holiday workshops, and she absolutely loves them. Guided by the teachers, she has produced some amazing pieces that have really developed her style and passion for art!

I absolutely love your daughters energy in class and it is great to have her - I love to see the way her skills are developing plus the recognition in what she could do or suggest without a prompt and delivering within the tasks beautifully. A friendly and inspiring place
Fabulous art class. My kids love the lessons. The classes cover all types of art and the use of so many different mediums. The kids fill their own sketchbooks with the development of their art as well as creating beautiful finished pieces. A lovely, friendly and inspiring place to be. My youngest can’t wait to be old enough to join her siblings!

Thank you so much, I am glad they enjoy them as much as we do whilst we offer new and various projects for the half day/ whole day including mediums such as 2D, 3D elements in clay, watercolour, mixed media and acrylic. I look forward to the next time they are able to join. :)
