Left me hanging after accepted bookings late at night in the middle of nowhere not once, not twice, but three times. That was enough for me. Previous to that, was charged different amounts for same journey every time and one driver nearly got me killed by pulling out on to a main road right in front of another vehicle.

Arrived 28 mins late for an 8.30 am pick up which was booked the night before.
Outrageous. Just so unreliable.
Tracked the driver 28 mins away when he should have been picking up.
What is the point in using a taxi service that cannot be relied on to turn up. Never using them again.

This is the worst taxi service . Pre ordered a taxi to come home from a wedding and no cars. Absolutely terrible service. Uber sent one immediately. I would not use this company.

not happy I've been using argyle for years, I always pre book my taxi the night before and it is always late. I have to be in work at 8 in the morning I always book it with plenty of time to spare incase it's late but when it shows up at 10 to 8 I don't get to work till 20 past 8 making me late for work. Unacceptable honestly

Pre booked a taxi for 5.30 am as I was catching a coach. Never turned up. When I phoned they said no taxis available in the area. I assumed that when I pre booked a driver would be assigned to pick me up . That is not the case they wait until a driver picks up the booking, if no one does no taxi arrives. Why do they accept pre booking for a specific time if that service is not available? This should be made clear when booking.

Took ages for driver to be assigned then it was cancelled not by me. Plus they charged me. Avoid prepay!

Absolutely appalling service. I booked and paid for a taxi from The Bentley in Liverpool to my home in Woodchurch in the early hours of 19 July 2026. Due to the venue's lift being out of order, I had to help an elderly relative down two flights of stairs. By the time we reached the pickup point, the driver had cancelled the booking and left without attempting to contact us.

The app clearly states a £5 cancellation fee, yet I was charged the full fare of £28.35 for a journey that never took place. Charging customers for a service that was never provided is completely unacceptable.

I called the office the same day and was told someone would get back to me. I have since sent an email, but I have received no reply whatsoever. The complete lack of customer service has been shocking.

To add insult to injury, it certainly felt as though the driver had simply picked up another fare outside the venue while I was still charged the full amount for a journey that never happened.

I have now had to dispute the payment with my bank because the company has failed to deal with a straightforward complaint. I will never use this company again and would strongly advise others to think twice before booking with them.

Absolute Disappointment!
I booked a taxi 2 days in advance to pick me up at 06:20 am for a 7:00 am appointment and no taxi was available. When I called to chase, I was advised that they are looking for one. I am never ever going to use Argyle taxis again.

Pre paid £85 and booked a taxi a week in advance and no one showed up. No apologies and was offered someone else to pick me up hours later for an extra £60. Avoid at all costs.

Booked a taxi in advance for work the next morning and was told it was only to be told when im in the taxi thats its going to be an extra £12 on top of what I have already been charged. How is this right? If I know this was the case I would have booked someone else.

This was the first time I used their taxi service.
The taxi was very easy to book on the app. The taxi arrived within 5 minutes and I was able to view it's location via the app.
The journey was quick and the driver helped us with our bags at both ends.

My sister booked a taxi to pick her up from Arrowe park hospital and had been told some bad news. The taxi drivers attitude was awful she only just received the text with the confirmation and reg plate and he was saying I’ve missed a fair because of you she replied I’ve only just got the notification he was very rude and she realised it’s the same man that was rude and nasty last time so she and my sister just got out when they realised and didn’t even want to be in a car with an awful man. Obviously if you are picking a customer up from a hospital they are either there for treatment or visiting a sick relative or friend maybe a bit of compassion around that time wouldn’t go a miss! :(

Booked a taxi and called when it was five minutes late called to find a driver had not been assigned. Will not be using them again.

I was driving on my way to work and saw an Argyle Satellite taxi go straight through a red light on a roundabout. I would personally feel very unsafe in a taxi that thought it was okay to do this, so unsafe!

My wife booked a taxi at 10.10 pm on a Thursday. She chased when no taxi arrived and was told by a woman it would be there by 10.30 pm. Still no taxi and when she called again, she received an automated response that there were no available taxis. Utterly useless. We will not be using this wretched company again! If another taxi company on the Wirral were established, offering a reliable service with local taxi drivers, they would put Argyle Satellite out of business, which is what they deserve, judging from our experiences and seemingly the many other poor reviews.

Booked a taxi 24 hrs before needed for 7pm Thursday evening and never turned up on time, called them at 7pm and operator said would try and get someone asap, 20minutes later still hadn't turned up and had to get an uber. I would have thought booking 24hrs in advance they would have been on time. No apologies or sorry, poor service would not recommend this company

I have used argyle for years but this week I got a taxi to pick my mum up from the hospital and they charged me for 2 rides even though I have proof on my app I only ordered one taxi, iv rang them and they just keep saying they will ring back and never did! Alls they care about is money and robbing people! Every check your bank when using as a driver told me they liked to set up there own standing orders

Waited 45 minutes for a taxi, then told taxi was 1 minute away, then told taxi was 10 minutes away, then told taxi was outside. I had already started walking home after waiting for 25 minutes. Happens regularly. I really wish someone would start up a local firm around West Kirby, they would make a fortune!!

Used Argyle many times over the years and never previously complained, despite experiencing late taxis and occasionally vehicles that did not meet the cleanliness and presentation standards expected of licensed taxis on the Wirral.

However, my latest experience was extremely disappointing.

I booked a taxi and was allocated a driver, but the driver never moved from their location at all. After standing outside in heavy rain getting soaked, I cancelled the booking — only to then discover I had been charged a £5 cancellation fee.

At no point during the booking or cancellation process was this fee clearly disclosed. Had it been made obvious beforehand, I would have been aware of it before cancelling. It also raises the question of whether card and Apple Pay users are being treated differently to cash customers, as it is unclear how such a fee would even be collected on a cash booking.

Under UK consumer law, fees and charges should be transparent and clearly communicated before a customer agrees to a service. Hidden charges are unfair and leave a very poor impression.

A very disappointing way to treat a long-standing customer, and unfortunately enough for me to stop using the company in future.

At 10.20..looked on app... no reg for vehicle.
Called them up..
No driver available..
Absolutely ridiculous...

Avoid at all cost...
