I just wish they stocked smaller sizes of ink, like Diamine 30ml bottles

I bought some extra Diamine inks to test out as I am a bit ambivalent about the Diamine Oxblood. In my opinion the Oxblood while it has a hint of red is quite dark and is almost a brown. Nevertheless Oxblood has it place and is not too bad. The Diamine Matador by contrast is a nice dark red and not a brown/red. With Matador you get a good dark red that is quite appealing, and it is not a ruby red like on some cheaper ballpoints. It may be an idea to get Diamine strawberry as light ruby/red, matador as a medium dark red and Oxblood as a very dark brown/red. The Diamine green/black that I also purchased is quite dark but it has hints of green underneath and its quite subtle. You can use the Diamine green/black in the office if you use a fine nib, and its possible to use the Diamine Matador if you are a teacher/lecturer. Both inks write quite nicely with a Lamy fine nib, and they are also quite nice with a Jinhao medium nib. Ideally one should use Rhodia paper with your fountain pens, but I have found that the SD A4 hard covers are a relatively cheap alternative to play around. There is some minor feathering with the inks on cheaper paper like the SD A4 hard covers, but the Diamine inks go very smoothly on Rhodia paper with almost no feathering even with the very wet medium nibs of Jinhao fountain pens.
