An unfortunate experience
Ordered what should have been a beautiful fairy costly nearly loaded trailer from Apex Trailers in Texas around mid March. Despite being able to build and submit an order you need a dealership to actually order. I took Apex's advice on dealer which turned out to not be not very wise as they had an employee leave mid way through. Everything was just as the prior dealer lady had setup. But now despite my sizable down payment they tried to get me into paying in full for a trailer that wasn't even fully built and I had never seen. Why would they try to do that? Would a good company do that? I was angry about that. Shouldn't I be? Delivery was delayed several times leaving my trailer outside during storm season for months. Then Apex claimed a new computer system caused them to not include an ordered sorting gate. An option I just happened to specifically mention when it arrived at the dealership and they said oops! During initial delivery both axles seized destroying tires etc and the trailer had to be towed back to be repaired. They gave a less than 3% credit and told me I should be grateful. Everyone I know can't wait for the 3% off, tons of wasted time, repaired, don't get exactly what you order sale! Ha ha. I was assured Erin would fly out lay eyes on it at the dealer, everything had been triple check and the trailer would be perfect like new again upon delivery. Delivery came eventually and it came with warn paint in some areas, a dented window frame, options I didn't order and some left off. How it was triple checked? Did she lie and not actually go look at it? Probably. The order was verified as correctly ordered directly to Apex and from the dealer so all just goofs from Apex. The driver pointed out the goose neck release tension was incorrect so you had to pull the wire to release it. Also a small retainer for the neck adjustment pin had been broken. Title took an additional month (a penalty fee in my state). They promised touch up paint, repair at a dealership on them or delivery of the damaged or missing parts to me. Then those parts were delayed because they could not get their trailers or parts across the Mexican border due to tariffs. Yes these Texas trailers are made in Mexico. Then despite my continuous patience and forgiveness with them total silence, no response for several more weeks (calls and emails). Finally caught them answering phones now early November. Asked if they would just send me the parts as to be done with it. Now the story changed however and they cannot send me parts or it voids my warranty. Erin then called me a jerk out of the blue for wanting my trailer to be made right after all these excuses. She insisted repairs were free and I should be grateful for any help. At this point I corrected her that it was not free to drive a super duty 3 hours 4 times two pulling a trailer. Probably feeling bad (I hope) she offered to reimburse me for gas. As it stands I'm to drive 3 hours to get it repaired over a few days which hopefully goes well. Now over 3 weeks later the parts still have not arrived and I've found out they sent the parts to the wrong dealership first not the new one they themselves chose. Really? Will the promised fuel check ever show (After months nope)? Luckily the more local dealer seems very nice let's hope we end on a good note. The Apex experience was poor at best. Even though this trailer is priced quite high I would have absolutely paid more for a better experience. I hope it eventually all comes through. Heaven forbid I ever have a warranty issue. I think I would just take it elsewhere first. God bless!
