We booked AnyVan for a London to Newcastle move, with a full inventory of 40+ items including a three-seater sofa bed and a paid dismantling service, for a total of over £700. Three days before the move we added a couple of extra items and paid an additional £7, which was processed without issue.
On moving day, the driver arrived with an inventory list that did not include the sofa bed, yet the dismantling fee we'd paid for was still listed as a "special requirement." We checked our own booking confirmation and the sofa bed was missing from our list too, despite us never removing it and having paid the same total fee throughout, including the top-up added days earlier.
We explained this discrepancy to the driver and then to a customer service representative on the phone, but the rep repeatedly talked over us and insisted we pay extra for the sofa bed and the dismantling service we had already paid for. We told them clearly, more than once, that we would pay for the sofa bed to be included. Despite this, the driver loaded every other item and left without the sofa bed.
Throughout this, we told customer service we had a 3-week-old baby with us and that the situation was extremely stressful. This was ignored and the focus stayed entirely on extracting more payment rather than resolving an error that was on AnyVan's side, and even after we agreed to pay, the item was still left behind.
This is the worst customer service experience we have ever dealt with. No consideration whatsoever for our situation, the entire focus was on squeezing out extra money, not on actually solving the problem for the customer.
We paid £700+ for a service that was not completed, lost the ability to bring an item we needed and had already paid for, and were treated with no consideration from start to finish.
The service was easy to arrange and communication was good. The driver who had my job was pleasant, helpful, efficient and well organized. I felt i was in good hands and everything worked out perfectly . Many thanks to my driver William.

They entered the wrong code for my storage lock and did not answer my phone when I wanted to help resolve the issue with the storage manager. The customer service was also not helpful and dismissive. Very unprofessional, unresponsive and unreliable service. I ended up disputing the transaction for the job that I booked, as I was not happy to pay for the service that I did not receive. Avoid!

A great transaction from start to finish. Once I sent requests for quotes I had a follow up call from the company and the driver I settled on, JVMovers, was great. The item was collected and delivered as agreed with great communication all the way.

I would strongly advise anyone planning a house move to use a professional moving company rather than relying on anyvan.ie
The lower price may seem attractive at first, but in my experience it was not worth the stress and uncertainty during what is already a very demanding time.
I booked my move through AnyVan and agreed a load of approximately 10–12 m³. I was assured by the AnyVan agent, that the quoted price would remain fixed once the booking was confirmed and that the moving dates were flexible. Unfortunately, neither of these assurances proved to be true.
When I later tried to move the date from the end of May to June, I was informed by the driver that June was not possible, so I had to keep the original date even though it was no longer convenient.
The most stressful part came just four days before the agreed moving date. After I sent the inventory list, including the estimated weight of the boxes, the driver informed me that the load was too heavy for him to share with another customer and therefore the move was no longer profitable at the agreed price.
At no point during the booking process was I told that there was a weight limit or that the quoted price depended on the load being shared with another customer.
Had I been informed of any weight restrictions at the time of booking, I could have made an informed decision and compared alternative moving companies. Instead, this issue was only raised four days before the move, when changing plans was extremely difficult and costly.
I was then given two options: either cancel the move or pay an additional €1,000 for an exclusive load. As my flights, accommodation, and other arrangements had already been organised around the agreed moving date, I felt I had no realistic choice but to pay the extra amount.
Afterwards, I attempted to submit a formal complaint. Unfortunately, I found the complaints process extremely frustrating. I was unable to reach anyone with the authority to resolve the issue, and at one point my call was disconnected while I was waiting to be transferred. I requested a refund of AnyVan’s fee (€530) as a reasonable gesture given how the situation had been handled, but this was refused.
Overall, my experience was extremely disappointing. I hope sharing it helps others make an informed decision when choosing a moving service.

Booked a small furniture move (2m³, two people) for a quoted £202. Wrote my full review of the day below drivers themselves were good, this is about AnyVan's customer service.
Tracking & timing:
Live tracker repeatedly failed to update properly. Customer service told me multiple times the driver was "within the hour", at one point this was said when the driver still had 4 stops left before even reaching my collection. Total wait ran hours beyond the booked window.
Attempted charge against their own T&Cs:
I'd declared a 50m walking distance to my flat at the time of booking, customer service confirmed this in writing. Despite that, I was later told this "may incur additional fees" of around on top of my original £202 quote. When challenged, I was told the charge was only being raised "now the driver was on site" — except this was said when the driver was still over an hour from even arriving at collection. When I pointed out that AnyVan's own T&Cs (clause 22.1) require all fees to be included in the original quote, the response was that the quote needed to be "readjusted" basically admitting the original price was wrong, while still trying to charge me more for something I'd disclosed from day one.
The charge was never actually applied in the end, but the attempt and the contradictory excuses given when I pushed back says everything about how this company operates behind the scenes.
Get everything in writing if you use them, because you'll need it for your complaint!!!!
I will never ever use AnyVan again and have already advised my friends and family to steer clear and use literally anyone else. Driver's deserve a payrise and whoever is running customer service deserves a long, hard look in the mirror.

Very disappointing experience with these Cowboys. If you want peace of mind, I strongly recommend hiring a professional moving company.
We agreed a fixed price based on a defined volume. However, just four days before the move, we were informed of an additional €1,000 charge due to “excess weight” — something that was never mentioned or included in the original agreement.
This last-minute change put unnecessary stress on the process and raises serious concerns about transparency and reliability. I would advise others to be extremely cautious.

II do not recommend anyvan. I cancelled them after one week of booking them. I gave them a full list of my belongings. They purposely put it wrong. So when I corrected them they increased the cost drastically.
They had got me to pay upfront on a discount. Then when I cancelled because they had increased the cost they refused to reimburse me because it was a discount. How can they refuse to reimburse you after only booked a week because it was on a discount?
I had not even got a moving date.
Absolutely appalling.
Had I read the reviews on their site I would never have booked them.
Read the comments on their site by people very upset and angry about this company.
And, Anyvan, you never gave me a reference number, and you know full well this is a GENUINE complaint. Do you want me to put all the correspondence on here ?
Just because you gave me a £73 discount entitles you to not refund me after I HAD to cancel because of your purpose fault to increase the cost. You're asking for proof. I have emails.

Excellent service moving our belongings from Dublin to London!
The entire experience was smooth, professional, and stress-free. Communication was clear from start to finish, and the team handled everything with great care and efficiency. Our items arrived safely and on schedule, and nothing was damaged during the move.
Moving internationally can be stressful, but they made the whole process easy and worry-free. The crew was friendly, punctual, and always willing to help. We really appreciated their professionalism and attention to detail.

Great service, the drivers were reliable and prompt. Easy to use platform, outline what you need transported from A to B and how much you’re willing to pay. I had an electric bike brought from Dublin to Galway, saved me a fortune in fuel, tolls and time. They can manage anything any size. Definitely recommend

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely outstanding service, couldn’t recommend Joe Ndibe more, he and his colleague helped move my elderly mother today, and they were absolutely lovely from start to finish. There ended up being more items than originally listed on the quote, but Joe didn’t charge a penny extra, which was such a kind and unexpected gesture.We were worried everything wouldn’t fit into the van, but they managed it all with no issues at all and they even knew my mum’s sofas dismantled, which we didn’t even know ourselves. Their experience really showed.I live in the UK and was trying to organise all of this from afar, which is stressful in itself, and incredibly stressful for my mum. But Joe and his colleague were so helpful, friendly and professional that they made the whole day feel easier and far less overwhelming for both of us.I will absolutely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone needing a reliable, honest and genuinely caring removal company. Do not use this company !!! I paid four thousand euro for two moves and discovered on delivery to my new home that some of my property is missing! Including a three door wardrobe ( how do you lose a wardrobe ?) Denby dishes, clothes and a box of drinking glasses. There was also some damaged stuff but I was prepared to overlook that as things get broken in transit but I will not accept that along the way they overlooked a wardrobe full of clothes!! ( clearly someone decided to simply not remove them from their van and kept my property!)
AnyVan have said today they are taking no responsibility despite the fact I booked through their company and was assured that all drivers were insured. It’s an absolute disgrace and I’m now at the loss of a couple of thousand euro. I will be persuing a legal action against AnyVan! Avoid at all costs !!!!!!!!!!!!
