Poor experience on several levels
There price adjustment policy is horrible. Customer service was no help at all, even after speaking with a supervisor. I asked for a free shipping coupon and they said that they had previously used one in 2020 and could not have another. 6 years ago!
Dodgy
Not happy. I needed to return an item for a refund as it was too small (they do not offer exchanges). They provided a postage sticker and then took off $20 for postage for snail mail. I could have posted it to them for far less.
Won’t be shopping with them again.
Reliable basics
Jeans fit consistently and hold up well. Delivery arrived earlier than expected.

I went to your store today in Tanger outlets Kanata Ontario to EXCHANGE, not return two sweaters that I had received for Christmas and were too large. I had picked one of the exact same sweaters in a different size and the other sweater I couldn't get so I was exchanging it for a similar sweater. I had my original receipt but hadn't noticed that my husband took the tag off to wrap it as it had the price on it. The plastic part was still hanging from the sweaters. I was told that I could not return the sweaters as I did not have the tags (even though they were the American Eagle sweaters and I had the original receipt with me). I was frustrated but relented. I told my husband and he quickly checked the AE bag and the tags were in it. He took a picture and I went back in with my proof. I was still denied and told that even if I brought the tags in with the original receipt I would be denied because they were not attached. Half the time when you try on clothes the tags fall off. Does that mean you can never return it?
This is the absolute worst return policy I have ever encountered. I thought I was doing everything right. I have shopped at AE for many years and never had this problem. Other people need to know about this.
Avoid by any chance
Ordering online is a nightmare ! My first experience was placing an order and they didnt even ship , i contacted customer service 2 days before the expected delivery day and they asked me to contact them on delivery date! I did and the refund was received 5 weeks after delivery expected date! I placed another order two weeks ago , two items one of them was shipped via purolator hopefully will arrive on time and another was sent via asendia which is the worst courier company on the planet ! Two says after ( shipping label created , not picked up yet) and it’s three days already to the delivery expected date! I contacted customer service and they told me that I can return the items when I receive them but will only get the refund ( 6-8 weeks after return)
It’s a cheap company that doesn’t give a damn for customer’s satisfaction and all what they care for is to take your money!

I normally love buying skirts and cute tops here. After seeing this newest ad about having “great genes” I’ve now deleted the app and will be avoiding the store. This campaign is supposed to be about DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUPPORT and they don’t mention it ONCE in the ADs. You wouldn’t even know the jeans have a butterfly on them bc they NEVER show the jeans. They have successfully de-influenced me from ever shopping there again. Also FREE PALESTINE 🇵🇸

I miss the company’s old policy of featuring unedited women of all shapes, colors and sizes. I’m a white woman and if people darker than me telling me this is wrong, I’m going to listen and hear it from their POV. This is mainstreamed racism. I deleted their shopping app and I’m taking the time to find new places to shop.
Millbury Mass American Eagle Outfitters…
I went to American Eagle Outfitters today (5/24/25) (at the Blackstone Mall, Millbury MA). I wanted to try on a pair of t-shirts for sizing reasons, and told the changing room woman she didn't have to bother with scribbling my name down on the door mirror as i'd be in an out in a few minutes. She got horribly upset for some reason, stating that this was her job. I just let it go, and said okay, with a smile. But she wouldn't let it go, and she even suggested that I'd given her a fake name. I just smiled and carried on. I'm not sure what her issues are (racist?) but I think I won't be going back to this store. She might consider a non-retail job.

Wow. I had no idea until now that this clothing store had such bad reviews for pretty much everything. If I had only been on trust pilot before hand I would have never ordered from them. I used to get great quality clothing from them my last purchase was a pair of jeans which have deteriorated after wearing them less than a handful of times in over a 2 month period. After contacting American Eagle they refused to offer an exchange or refund and tried to settle with a measly 15 discount and free shipping off another purchase. NO THANKS. I would highly recommend everyone stay away from this clothing store and spend your money elsewhere
Ordered 5 g-strings for supposingly…
Ordered 5 g-strings for supposingly €35,- as a deal. Each one separately would cost €12,-. After paying I received an email 4 days later saying that some items are not in stock and i don't have to worry because they would adjust my total amount so i would not have to pay for the g-strings i didn't get. Received the package yesterday and they charged me for 3 g-strings for €12 each which is more now comparing to the deal i paid for. I checked their website and the items they said were out of stock are still on stock and able to buy on the website. They are FRAUDS as they didn't even cancel the whole order and give my money back or adjust the website or letting me know upfront they were supposingly out of stock!!!!

Horrible ordering experience, all done with them. Order what you want, get charged, get confirmation of said order, track order and receive only partial. Customer service is pathetic. "Returned" my jeans I didn't receive after telling me they may arrive separately. Can't even get a straight answer if they ever had them in the first place. No wonder their ratings are so low.
The absolute worst shipping ever
The absolute worst shipping ever! Purchased an order they shipped one item out separately after the first package went out ! So, now the first package is sitting in Tennessee while the other will be delivered today ? I paid overnight but, this happens everytime ! Never on time and if you call these people have no idea what they are doing or how to take next step to assist in our issues ! I asked to speak to supervisor bc the employee said I have no idea why your other package is in Tennessee ? I was transferred to a survey never had an opportunity to speak to a supervisor ! Ridiculous ! Poor service , unorganized shipping !

This is specifically regarding an outstanding young woman named Julia who works at the Settlers Green store of American Eagle, in North Conway, New Hampshire. Julia is a very energetic and personable person who seems sincere to find the right fit of clothing for the customer, not just to sell stuff. She really hustles around the store as well. I bought some of my favorite shirts from her a few years ago. She remembered not only the type of shirt, but also the size of the shirt. Give this woman a raise!

This company made a huge mistake and they still want me to pay for something I don’t have! They will only refund or replace items as a courtesy.
The foundation of this organisation is based on a worst motto.
Obviously I will start with saying that they are not worth 1 rating.
I have ordered 3 pairs of jeans worth AUD 200 on 24th of July, and after a month (3 days short), and a thread consisting of 11 emails, and four unsolved tickets, on 21st of August 2024, they declared that the package is untraceable and started a refund which is going to happen in 10 days. They know that they lost the package on 7th August, but they made me wait for 15 days to even update the actual status.
this is the best example of how your ecommerce should not be.

AE wanted me to pay for a mistake they made and have ignored my issue since.
Bought two pairs of cargo pants from them. I'm in the UK and got them shipped to me. They sent the wrong colour of one and I talked to customer service to get it exchanged for the right colour. They told me I had to pay for shipping to return it and buy the correct colour again. I shouldn't have to pay for a mistake they made, I got referred to someone else to try and fix the issue - haven't heard from them in weeks!
