We had videos from the 1990 onwards which we could no longer view. We now have the same content in high quality to view on computer or ipad. We were impressed with the service from the outset and delighted with the product. Thank you. Highly recommended.

Read the reviews and decided to ask Alive to transfer old videos on DVD to memory disk and enhance quality. Brilliant - the service was superb and the results were excellent. The old video had distortion and breaks - the new is smooth, clear and good quality. Would definitely use Alive again!

I used Alive Studios, some of the tapes had complications due to faults with the original camcorder, plus there were bilateral audio tracks on some of the tapes, which complicated my order. I was generally happy with the results, and with the support during the processing period. One small criticism was the time it took, some 6 weeks from start to finish. Some companies undertake to do similar work in a significantly shorter time. However, this is a small point, if the results are worth waiting for, and I think they were.

I was very pleased with the entire service I received when I asked Alive Studios to transfer 29 reels of 8mm ciné film to digital video.

The communication was very good and friendly, the estimated time to complete was accurate and kept to. The finished product (around 75 minutes of video) exceeded my expectations, and their re-mastering had enhanced the quality of the original film.

The personal service and high quality product is appreciated, and I fully recommend Alive Studios for this type of work.

Outstanding customer service! I have had my cine films transferred previously by other companies and they don’t come close to the high quality Alive Studios offers. So loved seeing my childhood memories in the big screen. Thank you Alive Studios.

How refreshing these days to find a thoroughly professional company with the old ethos of nothing is too much trouble. I had some very old film in poor condition to be transferred and was doubtful if it could be restored. When I received the finished product the result was miraculous. I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality. It proves the old adage of you get what you pay for. In this case I got much more! Highly recommended.

I looked at a number of options for digitizing an old 8mm cine film that I had inherited from my late father. I decided to give this studio a try. They were the most expensive option, but I was impressed by the samples on their web site, and so decided to try them out with one film in the first instance. The film had been in storage in our loft for nearly 10 years and was not in the best condition. I sent it away in early June and got the result today (early July). I am extremely impressed by the quality of the result. The (claimed) frame-by-frame treatment of the images certainly seems to have worked in my case and the images are really sharp. The turnaround time was not the fastest, but I was in no hurry (the film was 60 years old!), and their automatic notification system kept me well informed about the status of the film at all stages, so I had no concerns. Will definitely use them again.

Appalling company! I seriously regret ever sending these jokers our family heirlooms. I cannot understand where the 5 star reviews come from - must be friends. To begin with - customer service. NON EXISTENT!!!. It should have been a red flag for me from the beginning. I tried calling to discuss our needs but nobody ever answers the phone. It's an extremely expensive company but they promise the best. 6 - 8 weeks they said. They acknowledged receiving my films on the 16th of January. It's possible to track the progress of your films through their system. end of March and the films had not moved anywhere. I tried calling again and again to see what had happened to our precious films. No one picks up. I tried emailing asking the whereabouts of our films - nobody replied. I came to the conclusion that I was just never going to see our films again. I was heartbroken. Our mother had just died which prompted us to get our memories with her digitized and now they were gone. I left a post on the Alive Studios Facebook page warning others not to send their films to these scammers. A couple of weeks after that, I got an email telling my job would be completed by the 30th of April.
I finally got the films. What a massive disappointment. The quality is APPALLING!. They promise you the "BEST" but you get the worst. I could have done a better job shining a torch through the film onto the kitchen wall and filming it with my phone. Taking what they gave me and spending 5 minutes with Power Director and I can massively improve the quality but I didn't spend £1265.64 in order to get something I would have to try and rescue in post processing, I expected results that can't be improved upon.
Sometimes in life you deal with bad companies. This is one of them in every possible way. Steer clear and get your precious memories digitised somewhere else. I can't believe there's a company out there who can't do a better job than this for a fraction of the price or who has worse customer service.

In response to your reply. There are 2 types of companies when things go wrong. The type of company that that has some sense of integrity and tries to rectify problems and the type that accept no responsibility and lie in order to absolve themselves. You are clearly the latter. It is shocking to read the total lies in your reply.
To begin with, yes you received my films on the 13th of January. I'm cutting and pasting from your email of the 13th of January "We are quite busy at present so expect around 6-8 weeks"
I NEVER HEARD FROM YOU AGAIN!! I CALLED AND NOBODY PICKS UP THE PHONE.!! I emailed you on the 21st of March: "Is there any update on the progress of our films?" I GOT NO REPLY!! I came to the conclusion that you were rogue traders and we had lost our precious family films. I started leaving written warnings about your company on social media then out of the blue on the 3rd of April I get an email "Your estimated completion date is:- 30/04/2023". THAT WAS THE FIRST COMMUNICATION I HAD FROM YOU SINCE I SENT IN MY FILMS!!!! NEEARLY 3 MONTHS AND DESPITE ME TRYING TO CONTACT YOU I HEARD NOTHING. HOW DARE YOU SAY YOU MAINTAINED CONTACT WITH ME?!!! YOU ARE BARE FACED LIARS!!!.... "but we exceeded expectations by finishing the work earlier" ....14 WEEKS! 14 WEEKS!! 14 WEEKS!!! By your own admission in your answer it took you 14 WEEKS!! to do the work with a lead time given of 6-8 weeks. No communication along the way. WHAT A TERRIBLE THING TO DO TO SOMEONE WHEN THE ITEMS YOU ARE HANDLING ARE SO PRECIOUS TO SO MANY PEOPLE!!!.
"Our scanning process aims to faithfully reproduce the content of the films"...NO IT ISN'T! You claim to be able to restore and remaster films, that is your "USP". The films you sent back are just unwatchable. You claim to "deliver unparalleled results". I wish I had known that "unparalleled" meant no other company would be as bad. I have since had the films redone by a cheap company and the results are infinitely superior to what you produced after waiting 14 WEEKS!!! I came to you because I wanted the best but totally wasted my money and got the worst in both service and results. LIARS! SHAME ON YOU!!
"Perhaps there has been some confusion with another company you have reviewed poorly".....Oh no, it's you alright. Alive Studios right? The people who took 14 weeks to process my films right? The people who present films that are unwatchable and the cheapest alternative company will provide superior results right? The people who lie about communications right? No, there's no doubt, I've definitely got the right company here.
