Experience - Aire One Heating & Cooling

My experience with Aire One Heating & Cooling has been extremely disappointing and, frankly, unprofessional from start to finish.

Communication is a major issue. Reaching someone is a challenge in itself—long wait times on calls, repeated holds, and even after finally connecting, the interaction feels rushed and unhelpful. On multiple occasions, I received automated emails stating that someone would call back to schedule or discuss appointments, but no one ever followed through.

When you do manage to speak with someone, the tone and approach are concerning. It often feels as though they are not interested in your business. Conversations tend to be one-sided, with representatives attempting to dictate terms rather than listen. At times, it even felt like words were being put into my mouth, and calls were abruptly cut off without resolution.

Overall, the experience comes across as dismissive and arrogant, rather than customer-focused. Based on my interaction, I chose not to proceed further—and in hindsight, I’m relieved I didn’t engage in any business with them.

What is particularly confusing is the stark contrast in their online reviews across platforms. Publicly available ratings appear highly inconsistent—for example, platforms like Google and HomeStars show very high ratings (around 4.8), while others such as BBB are significantly lower (around 1.4), with Trustpilot and community forums reflecting more mixed to negative feedback.

Such wide variation in ratings may indicate differences in customer experiences, review solicitation practices, or other factors which i leave it to your wisdom. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to conduct thorough, independent research across multiple platforms before making a decision.

Honestly, I don’t understand how such high ratings exist—especially at this scale. Even many top-tier businesses and 5-star hotels don’t consistently maintain such volumes of near-perfect reviews.

Final advice: Do your due diligence. Read across platforms, not just one, before engaging with this company.

Failure in every way

AireOneKW has been one of the most frustrating companies I’ve ever dealt with. I hired them to install a heat pump and furnace, and it took four additional visits to complete the job, each one requiring me to take time off to wait around for the whole day.

They took no ownership of the delays and didn’t even bother to schedule follow-ups themselves. After every failed attempt, I had to call back and re-explain everything. When I asked to speak with a manager after the first delay, I was told they would call me back. They never did. I asked twice more on later calls and still heard nothing. I don’t know what’s happening internally, but they seemed completely disorganized and unaccountable. They also damaged my floor, left several tools here and gave me the wrong date for the installation. I regret choosing them and strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Update: About two months after the installation, I turned on the heat and neither the heat pump or the electric furnace worked. I called again, and to their credit, they sent someone the same day (a first). It turned out the furnace hadn’t been connected properly, they didn’t offer any explanation for the heat pump failure. They fixed it, but now the thermostat circuit cuts out periodically, causing everything to flicker and reset which never happened before. Even though I still have a warranty, I haven’t called about the circuit issue because I don’t trust AireOneKW to send a competent person to fix it.

I complained a lot when I called to book someone to fix the heat pump and furnace, and the manager finally called me back. She claimed she hadn’t heard about any previous issues (which honestly doesn’t make me feel any better) but she’d look into it and call back. Three weeks later I’ve heard nothing.

DO NOT CHOOSE AireOneKW

Update #2: Within 48 hours of posting this review, someone from AireOneKW reached out to apologize and work toward a resolution. While I am still not very satisfied with the company’s overall service, I appreciate that they have taken steps to correct their mistakes, and I have adjusted my rating accordingly.

In a disheartening turn of events

In a disheartening turn of events, I found myself in a distressing predicament with Aire One technicians during a routine service call. Upon realizing the exorbitant pricing of their services, which amounted to a staggering 500% markup compared to industry standards, I expressed my concerns to the technician in a composed manner, citing the unjustifiable nature of the charges.

Instead of addressing my concerns with professionalism and courtesy, the technician responded with unprofessional conduct, resorting to profanity and aggressive language. Shocked and dismayed by this unprofessional behavior, I attempted to de-escalate the situation, reiterating my refusal to pay for what I perceived as an egregious attempt to exploit customers.

Despite my efforts to engage in a constructive dialogue, the technician persisted in their offensive demeanor, further exacerbating the already tense atmosphere. Feeling disrespected and taken advantage of, I regretfully declined their services and sought alternative solutions to rectify the issue at hand.

This distressing encounter not only underscored the unethical business practices employed by Aire One but also highlighted the importance of consumer vigilance in safeguarding against potential scams and exploitation. It is my sincere hope that this account serves as a cautionary tale for others, prompting greater scrutiny and accountability within the realm of service provision.

It's also a bit troubling that expressing legitimate concerns could result in threats of legal action, as evidenced by Aire One owner Osoma know as (kevin) lawsuit seeking $35,000 for a negative review which is posted on the kitchener subreddit on reddit. I urge caution and anonymity when sharing experiences to protect against potential retaliation.
