Unhelpful repair service
My wheelchair needed new wheels and I took it to Ableworld for replacements. Their service centre took several weeks to respond and when they eventually did, the engineer said they couldn't replace them. Incredibly he asked me, "How am I supposed to know what size to get?" The chair was returned to me still with its damaged wheels.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience and appreciate how frustrating it must have been to be without the use of the wheelchair.
As the wheelchair was left with us without a prior appointment, it was transferred to our workshop and booked in at the next available opportunity. Unfortunately, due to the Bank Holiday period, this meant a wait of six working days.
Once inspected, we found that the wheelchair was an older model which had been discontinued. We contacted the manufacturer to see if they could assist, but unfortunately the replacement parts required were no longer available.
We always do our best to support customers with repairs, including products that have not been purchased from Ableworld. Sadly, on this occasion, the lack of available parts meant we were unable to carry out the repair.
We are genuinely sorry that we could not provide the outcome you had hoped for and appreciate your disappointment. Our recommendation would be to consider replacing the wheelchair, and our team would be happy to offer advice and assistance should this be required.
Got what we wanted at a nice price

Five Star Service at Ableworld Stockportt
Went to try out recliner chairs at the Stockport Store just after I came out of hospital! Five star service from Kay! Such an asset to Ableworld. Very knowlegable kind and considerate.
No pressure to buy - we went back to order the next week.
Delivery people were lovely, explained everything in detail.

Had a first class experience this…
Had a first class experience this morning at Hazel Grove showroom looking at folding mobility scooters. Sue listened to my requirements and suggested a model which I drove around in the showroom and the adjacent car park. It suited me very well and I decided to go ahead and make the purchase. I cannot imagine more helpful and knowledgeable service.

We visited the Stockport store and was greeted by Kay her knowledge and experience shone. Kay spent nearly 3 hours with us finding the best mobility scooter for my husbands needs no pressure into buying total honest opinion and Kay demonstrated everything with us , my husband would have bought the first scooter he tried had Kay not sat him down and talked us through the needs . Very good experience in using this…
Very good experience in using this shop. My dad is very uncomfortable with walking and Kay really put his mind at ease and helped us work out the best solution without sales tactics. It’s a very person focused approach and very much appreciated. Would highly recommend. Kay is fantastic.

Absolutely incredible service from Sue…
Absolutely incredible service from Sue in Stockport, I took my friend for his first scooter, he was very nervous but was soon put at ease by Sue, nothing was too much trouble, everything was explained in detail making sure my friend fully understood how to operate his new scooter.

Happy polite and courteous staff
Happy polite and courteous staff. I found Sue & her colleague very knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble for them . They even made sure we were able to get the electric wheelchair into the car safely. This is definitely the place to go to , I personally wouldn't go anywhere else for disability products!!

Great experience from start to finish
Great experience from start to finish. We had done some research on mobility scooters beforehand and wondered whether we would leave feeling more confused than when we went in! Far from it! Kay and Sue were very welcoming and very professional. We talked about what was possible for us and what was not. At no point was there any pressure to buy. eventually we decided on one particular model and Kay showed us how to work it, how to fold it, battery care etc. All in all, a lovely experience and we left having bought exactly what we needed.
Would recommend to anyone.

Great Stair lift Ableworld Stockport
Thanks to Ableworld Stockport, and Dan especially, for mum's stair lift. I was worried that a flashy commission based sales guy would strong arm mum into something she didn't really need so, instead of replying to advertisements, we went to our local Ableworld store to see what they could offer as they had been so good with the other things she'd bought.
Ableworld assured me there was no hard sell, and so it proved. Dan who arrived for the sales appointment was actually the engineer who eventually fitted it! No high pressure sales, just straight, honest and practical advice. It also cost a lot less than we were expecting. For mum it's truly life changing as she can still use the whole of the house. It's also been nearly 12 months since it was fitted and not a single issue has arisen.

Fantastic experience
I attended the Stockport branch with my father who was in need of a mobility scooter. Sue was absolutely brilliant, she could answer all the questions we had, allowed my father to try out a few scooters and demonstrated how to assemble/disassemble. There was absolutely no pressure to buy which was so refreshing. We left having purchased a mobility scooter and giving my father some much needed freedom. Thank you!

My wife and i called in Ableworld STOCKPORT looking for a wheelchair, we were met by KAY she was very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble , various wheelchairs were shown and demonstrated to us to try. Kay was very professional but also very nice to speak too, we never felt any pressure to buy and was given plenty of time to try them and select the right one for us.

Not the expert Ableworld claim they are.
I am newly disabled and bought from Ableworld because they make a claim to expertise in mobility matters. I was sorely disappointed in that they failed to alert me to a need to check access ramps for my threshold. It turned out that I needed a scooter with larger wheels. I asked if they would allow an exchange. They declined. I have had the scooter for half a year & have only had it on the road when I drove it home from the shop. Ableworld also refuted my claim that mobility service ought to include consideration of ramps.

We are sorry that you feel that you have been left disappointed with the level of service that you have received from Ableworld, however we can confirm though all departments in Ableworld have dealt with you in a professional manner and have been supportive to you with your queries.
Our staff at all of our stores are very knowledgeable on all of our products, however a ramp is not classed as an item that we would discuss to with a customer purchasing a scooter, unless specifically requested.
All feedback from our customers is appreciated, good or otherwise, as we do strive to make our customers experience a positive one.
