As one would exspect, the site was effective and selection simple.
I would have been better to attend the branch , in future I would choose this option as I made an error with the size I ordered! Staff in branch effected change for correct size and fitted them. Thank you

Recently had need for a new mobility…

Recently had need for a new mobility trolley for my sister. Popped into our local Ableworld in Shrewsbury knowing very little about what we needed. The expert assistant manager Mark took excellent care and concern in finding out what out needs exactly were, and finding us the right low weight trolley for my sisters needs. they even took our old broken and dilapidated trolley for scrapping. We are all very happy with the new purchase and look forward to dealing with them in the near future.

Online experience not great

I didn't like the on line ordering process. It was unclear until payment was almost complete what the carriage charge would be and it stated that I would be informed of despatch date and delivery. Apart from telling me it would be delivered by Parcelforce there was no communication regarding delivery and it therefore just turned up at my mothers house without me being able to share any information with her - not idea for a 94 year old lady who lives alone.

Visited the Shrewsbury store last week…

Visited the Shrewsbury store last week to find a lightweight Mobility Scooter. Mark was incredibly helpful, very informative and knowledgeable. No hard sell.
Returned earlier today to pick it up.
Mark ran through how it worked etc again and put it in the car for me.
Highly recommended visiting this store.

Purchase of a very comfy chair

I did a 2nd visit to the Shrewsbury store, each time l was helped by Mark, he was first class. I purchased a chair ( Dorchester Grande Waterfall) l tried out several chairs Mark made sure the fitting of the chairs were right for me, and he answered all my quires. Many thanks Mark, love my chair ❤

My wife and i went to Shrewsbury branch…

My wife and i went to Shrewsbury branch today to look at purchasing a mobility scooter. We were very well looked after by Mark who showed us various scooters and my wife tried some out to see which one suited her needs. Good quality items at reasonable prices

Ordered by phone, very friendly staff, Sarah was very helpful and arranged for the items to be delivered asap. I purchased two Ziggy adjustable walking sticks in a lovely gunmetal grey with Derby handles and I couldn’t be more pleased. The quality is excellent. Would definitely recommend this shop.

Mobility Lightweight Scooter. e were looking for a Mobility Scooter…

We were looking for a Mobility Scooter for my husband, and required one which would fit into the boot of our car. We went to the Shrewsbury Branch and met Mark who was very understanding and helpful. Listened to what we needed and suggested a couple of models for us to try. We decided on one which was easy to breakdown/ light weight and comfortable. Just the job. So bought put into the boot and off we went. No problem.

Very disappointing custome service.

Yes! oh my god. I have FINALLY RECEIVED A FULL REFUND.
Am I grateful to Ableworld - Definitely NOT.
Did Ableworld give Great customer service. Definitely Not.
Was I treated with respect & understanding. DEFINITELY NOT.

It disappointing that you feel it's ok to state that we have to agree to disagree, how utterly callous that you feel it's ok to just wipes away the injuries my husband and I suffered, and the life threatening risk you felt it was ok to put my family and I put in.

The reason for my overwhelming dissatisfaction is their Senior Engineering & Logistics manager.

Ableworld should have refunded my money when I returned my faulty Jolly Boot scooter just 23 days after purchase. Not starting when the key is turn on, Stopping without warning when being used.
These really were major issues.
There Senior Engineer & Logistic’s Manager claimed User Error. to be honest, it was user error for everythin. He explained suddenly stopping as a Safety feature – that it’s gone into sleep mode because I the user have forgotten to turn it off !!

What absolute nonsense from a senior engineer & logistics' manager. Dpes anyone turn their scooter off when the are actually crossing the road.
I'm appalled and insulted by your customer service.

You made me feel totally useless and incompetent with your constant User Error.
To be continually put at serious risk, with both my husband and I being injured, dismissed as user error. How incomprehensible and downright callous.

To be threatened by passengers because this Jolly Boot Scooter DOES NOT have ample ground clearance which causes it to breach on some trains ramps.
As a family we really have been totally overwhelmed with number of incidents during the 17 weeks since purchase, yet this includes 10 days at Ableworld for a 2nd assessment by the same engineer.

As a family we are very relieved this saga is over and the Jolly Boot scooter has gone.
I’m sure Ableworld will say the manufactures didn’t find any faults but doesn't prove anything with the recordings I have.

I’m now looking for a New scooter.
Would I buy from Ableworld - Absolutely Not.
Lessons I’ve learnt the hard way in my darkest period.
Don’t be fobbed off with user error, make Ableworld or any company listen with your reviews.
Don’t read the good customer reviews, they are selling you stuff and want your money.
Read the 1-3 star about after sales service from people who’ve encounter problems.
I definitely encountered serious problems with this scooter that put me as risk of injury everytime that I used it.

Finally Don’t be fob you off with user error especially when it puts you at serious risk of injury!

The importance of good staff

My elderly parents use this store regularly & always comment on the helpfulness of the staff which puts them at ease.My sister & I went with them this week to purchase a wheelchair for our mum.Cathy served us ,she was so knowledgeable & gave us perfect advise.No pressure on time we spent deliberating. Daylight Robbery

Absolute Rip Off
If you are in need of a stair lift go elsewhere.
My father purchased a reconditioned stair lift from the Shrewsbury Store for just under £ 900, sadly he never used it before passing away.
Then after contacting Ableworld they said because it was a older model even though its never been used and only installed for 19 Days said they said they would offer only £150 to buy it back. A loss of £750 from purchase to passing away 11 days
shameful !

Thank you for contacting us regarding the buyback of the Stairlift your father purchased. I would first of all like to offer my condolences for the loss of your father.

We have set prices for the amount we pay for the buyback of a stairlift; this is determined by how old the stairlift is. We take into consideration whether the stairlift was new or reconditioned at the time of purchase. We also take into consideration the condition of the stairlift and the cost of engineers to remove the stairlift, along with the travel and transport costs involved. After the stairlift has been removed, it has to be fully inspected. Often, parts need to be replaced, batteries, motor brushes, etc. The track cannot always be reused depending on the size the track has been cut to for the original installation. Unfortunately, the costs in the installation and removal of the stairlift do not differ regardless of how long the stairlift is in situ.

We are one of the very few companies that will buy back a stairlift; most of our competitors charge to remove the lift.
We understand you may be disappointed with the offer, and we appreciate your feedback. Please note, there is no obligation to accept our buyback amount. You are, of course, free to explore selling the stairlift privately if you prefer.

Should you wish to proceed with the removal and our buyback offer, please contact our stairlift department direct.

Great products superb knowledge and expertise

We had done quite a bit of research independently and thought we knew roughly what we wanted. We were in the market for two mobility scooters for our parents who are both having a few mobility issues.
We visited the Shrewsbury store and were served by Cathy. Her knowledge of the products was second to none. My Mum and Dad were shown and test drove a few scooters and we're matched to the perfect solution for their needs. We bought two Jolly boot scooters. Nothing was too much trouble for Cathy. She showed us how to de assemble and re assemble. Her patience attentiveness knew no bounds. We were so impressed with the service from all the staff in store it was a very pleasant retail experience. I will return to this store for all our needs in future.

Ableworld Shrewsbury

My wife and I went to Ableworld in Shrewsbury yesterday (03/06/25) to view and purchase a mobility scooter that would breakdown to fit into the car boot. We were greeted by Sarah who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the different scooters that we were viewing. There was no sales pressure on ‘this one over that one’, just honest and practical advice as to which scooter would suit us the best. She then took my wife through the practical test drive both inside and outside the shop allowing her to try various manoeuvres to get the feel for comfort and ease of operation. After this, she then very clearly explained and demonstrated the breakdown and re-assemble process for the scooter that we had chosen. Her friendly manner, patience and sense of humour are all a great credit/asset to the store. We have no hesitation of recommending Ableworld – Shrewbury as the disabled goods store to go to.

Holiday mishaps

We were on holiday in Shropshire and my mobility scooter collapsed. We went to Ableworld in Shrewsbury last Thursday, May 15th.
It is rare that you get excellent service these days but we certainly got that with Mark, Emma and Cathy. The scooter was fixed and the three of them were so willing to help. Thank you so much. You saved our holiday!

Thanks for a great shopping experience.

I visited Ableworld Shrewsbury 3 times to choose a mobility scooter for myself. I am a very short person, so selecting the right one for my height was important. My 1st visit I was given information about the scooters by a great salesman.There was no sales pressure. But the information was good and the salesman helpful, so I was happy to return to ableworld. On my 2nd and 3rd visit, I was helped by Sarah. She was outstanding and very patient. She phoned me when one scooter was delivered to the shop. I took a lot of time but she was OK with that and made me feel relaxed about ensuring I made the right decision. She gave me access to a variety of scooters so I could try them for size. She was very knowledgeable about each machine adjusting them as i tried them to get the best possible fit, making it easy for me to choose. My 3rd visit was to select one of 2 possible scooters.
I tested them both, in the shop and outside( several times). Sarah was easy to talk to and gave me good advice while testing them. I am very glad I could test both and was given plenty of time to make my choice and feel confident I was able to use a scooter before buying. Sarah arranged the delivery and all the paperwork quickly, making it easy for me. The shop is clean, well laid out and easy to get round and look at goods. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for Sarah while I was deciding. Excellent shop, plenty of choice, great staff I have no hesitation recommending them. Thanks very much for a great shopping experience.
