In effect I've paid almost £240 for nothing!

I would strongly urge against buying anything of high value from this company!
I bought a riser recliner for £1100 on 3rd October which was delivered to me on 17th October.
I was given a short demonstration once it had been assembled and all seemed fine. However, within a day or so we noticed that there was starting to be a smell coming from the chair similar to stagnant water. The smell became stronger as time went on and so I contacted Ableworld to ask if something could be done.
A manager was sent out to inspect the chair. He arrived and acknowledged he could smell something and so checked it over to make sure it wasn’t a mechanical/electrical smell. He confirmed that it wasn’t and said he would submit a report.
I received a very terse response from Ableworld Head Office saying that the manager had been unable to detect a smell and that therefore they deemed the chair to be working as it should be with no faults!
I am now left with a very expensive, smelly ornament in the corner of my living room. The chair STILL smells and when you sit on it you get a waft of stagnant water.
But apparently that is an acceptable condition to sell a chair in even if it costs £1100.
It seems it’s their word against mine even though I I have to live with this smelly piece of furniture, my opinion is worthless. As a disabled person equipment is expensive and losing money like this really hits hard so to be treated with such contempt by Ableworld is really distressing. If I was able to get rid of this chair I’d have to lose in the region of £800 minimum by selling on eBay and am not in a position to kiss goodbye to that amount of money!
Really VERY disappointed in Ableworld. Most definitely. Won’t be buying from them again and will be advising others not to also.

Price of the underwear was competitive but the delivery was delayed, sadly however from a performance point of view (leakage), the underwear did not perform as expected, but the quality of the product in terms of its look and feel is good.

I went to pick up a click and collect order, and the staff member that saw to my order could not have been more helpful. She was just great, helping me get a couple of bulky items in the car. In a world that isn't always easy for carers, she absolutely made my day. It might sound small but it really mattered! Thank you so much.

Further to my previous reviews and contacting customer services they apologised for charging me £55 for stairlift batteries just 4 weeks after the stairlift was fitted, customer services said this was an oversight on their part and would refund the £55 this was 4 -5 weeks ago and yet another let down by Ableworld , this company is not to be trusted in any way even when they agree they were wrong they do nothing about it.

Ah, Ableworld, or as I now fondly call them, Disableworld. I recently bought a mobility scooter from these so-called “mobility experts” — and within a week, I realised it was about as “suitable” as roller skates for a giraffe. Naturally, I asked to return it. You’d think that a company built on helping people with limited mobility might move a little on customer service. But no. Once that scooter leaves their shop, it might as well be the Ark of the Covenant — untouchable, no matter how wrong it is for you.
Their returns policy seems to be written in invisible ink, only legible when it suits them. Apparently, they believe that “try before you buy” means “buy, cry, and wave goodbye.”
When I explained the issue, I was met with the empathy of a parking warden on commission. The Salesman's tone was less customer care and more careless customer. I half expected them to say, “Well, you’ve used it now” — as if testing a scooter once means I’ve forged an eternal bond with it.
If this is how Ableworld treats customers, I dread to think how they’d handle an actual emergency. You’d probably get told to fill out a form while rolling backwards down a hill.
So, thank you, Ableworld, for teaching me one valuable lesson: next time I need mobility assistance, I’ll crawl — it’ll be faster, cheaper, and with more dignity than dealing with you again.

I was sold a defective scooter not a quality product as there adverts claim. They had it 4 times for repair and still failed to provide a refund. I have now issued legal proceedings in the Courts. Please avoid this company

Excellent service by Dan Birkenhead branch.
I had my jazzy ZT10 scooter in to be fixed at first we thought it was a small problem to fix but 7to10weeks with one thing after another going wrong it's finally finished and working great. I could not praise Dan the engineer enough his customers skills were excellent he kept me informed about what was wrong every time even though he didn't know how I would react he even organised a scooter for me to use while he waited for parts to be delivered.he was amazing always happy to answer any questions I had, he's a credit to the company

I recently went to the Birkenhead store to support my mum with buying a Boot scooter due to her mobility issues. Lyn helped us out on the day and she was fantastic, an absolute gem. She was knowledgeable, patient, respectful and took time to demonstrate two of the scooters that we were interested in so that by the time we left we were sure we had bought the right one. She even made sure that I was confident in dismantling and putting the scooter back together before we left the store. I am pleased to say when I got it home I put it together in a few minutes. I bought a rolator walking aid and within weeks one of the tyres started peeling rubber as it became unsafe to use. I took back to the Birkenhead store a shop assistant said do you use the brakes going down hill as your not supposed to (when I stopped laughing I said well they are breaks after all). Days later the engineer contact me after seeing said rolator and said the wheel and tyre have some little stones in them. He said do you walk on cinder paths I said only roads and pathments. The engineer put his findings to h.q next I received an e mail saying the waranty doesn't cover it and if I want it repaired I will have to pay myself I bought this item on 1/6/2024 tyres lasted along time I don't think considering I only use it once a day to for a walk. please don't buy anything from this company they don't deserve it

Ableworld took away my partners power chair called "Spirit" to repair the back of vehicle with bottle holder intact. On the return of power chair I asked the driver, Gary where the bottle holder was? Gary produced it in his hands with the stem of the bottle holder broken completely away from the bottle holder. Gary the driver said he would return the broken bottle holder too the store and replace it. Upon phoning "Ableworld" they said there would be a charge of £60 for a new bottle holder! I stated upon phone call too "Ableworld" That I was brought up to be ethical and responsible and in the event that I break something not belonging to me that I replace or pay for whatever I broke. "Ableworld" said they had to make a full enquiry into the matter, I'm still awaiting the results. At the end of the day we know full well the bottle holder was intact when the power chair was taken away. Gary the driver knew full well the bottle holder was broken on returning the power chair to my partner Jean. The 'investigation' can only come up with two conclusions A/ They are responsible and replace the bottle holder or B/ The accussed will say, "Not me Gov!" Therefore not only will my partner Jean have paid £180 for repair of vehicle but also have to fork out £60 for what "Ableworld" have broken!!! Which from our perspective would be theft and robbery!!! The mature 3rd option C/ would be they accept what we claim in good faith and make recompense for what they have damaged e.g. New bottle holder!!!

Took a broken down Scooter in for a neighbour, she was taking it to America the following day. Neighbour in a panic. Lyn found the problem and was able to repair whilst I waited.
Fantastic service and so kind & courteous. Highly recommended.

Today I was shopping for a wheelchair with my grandmother, and I was thoroughly impressed with the customer service provided by Lyn. She was extremely attentive and accommodating, and her knowledge on the selection of wheelchairs was immensely helpful when making our decision. My grandmother felt wary about buying a wheelchair, but Lyn made her feel entirely at ease. This is the second time my grandmother has been served by Lyn, and Lyn’s fantastic service has ensured that my grandmother will be a returning customer.

First time buying a scooter from Ableworld and I am very impressed. A lovely girl called Lyn devoted herself to making sure I got exactly what I wanted and that all of my needs were met. She went through numerous scooters with me and showed me how to disassemble the ones I was interested in. She took time to explain everything and answer any questions I had. There was no pressure to buy and no pressure to choose. I bought my scooter and came away very satisfied with my choice. Would highly recommend Ableworld to anyone.

I bought two Wrenbury chairs at Ableworld in Birkenhead in August 2021. They cost £1790 the pair-I had saved for months for them. By January 2023 (approx 16 months later), 2 long screws had fallen out of one and it stopped working as a recliner-in fact was quite dangerous. Ableworld had given me 6 months worth of insurance when i bought the chairs-and i had got this renewed. However, the insurance company would not pay ANYTHING as it said it didn't cover what i described. My house insurance wouldn't cover wear and tear/shoddy workmanship either. So i have now have a chair i spent about £850 on and only had 16 months worth of wear from it. Ableworld have refused to help-except to charge me the usual call out and engineer's fees-which i refuse to do-i cannot afford MORE money. I strongly advise people not to buy a Wrenbury chair-or expect follow up customer service from Ableworld.
