Unreliable, Unresponsive, and Unprofessional – Avoid This Company
Extremely disappointed with the service provided by Able Lifts. We paid for a site visit and repair service in early May, and after more than four weeks, we still have not received the final service report or a complete quotation. Without the report, we could not call another company, and the lift remained unusable—causing financial loss and significant inconvenience to our building users.
Despite multiple emails and phone calls, we received constant excuses such as "the engineer is on annual leave" or "someone will get back to you"—but no one ever did. It's unacceptable for a company to allow an engineer to go on leave without submitting crucial documentation, especially after payment has already been made.
To make matters worse, we were told explicitly that there was "no guarantee the lift would work" after the repair, which is not something a responsible company should be comfortable saying after charging for service. Eventually, we had to pay another company to do the job properly.
Even the owner of Able Lifts admitted over the phone that he hadn’t responded sooner because he was too busy with “larger jobs.” That says everything about their priorities. Whether it's a small or big contract, every client deserves basic professionalism and communication. It’s hard to believe such a response could come from a company that presents itself as an engineering firm—one would expect much higher standards of organisation, planning, and customer care.
If you're considering using Able Lifts—don't. We regret giving them the job. Save your time, money, and patience by choosing a company that takes accountability and communicates with its clients.
