Air Source Heat Pump installation. The entire team from the office to the installation team have been fantastic.
Throughout they have had great communication, maintained flexibility (due to my changing availability) and provided an excellent level of customer care. The installation team were prompt, kept my house tidy and thoroughly explained everything before they left. As the installation took 2 days they also worked hard on the first to ensure they left me with hot water overnight, which was appreciated.
Whilst there is an aftercare service provided they aren't pushy about it - like some companies can be - which is to their credit.
Overall, a painless process (as they also dealt swiftly with all the grant paperwork) by a reliable and friendly team. I'd highly recommend this company to anyone considering changing their system. They also do electric car chargers which they have done for a family member at a reasonable cost, again to a high standard. 🙂

Very pleased with the solar installation from Abacus Energy Solutions. Following assessment of our requirements date for installation arranged very promptly. Would have been completed in one visit but had to wait for the delivery of one component delayed from the supplier and resolution of issue installing battery in loft.

Since commissioning, even in the depths of winter, the panels have seen a marked reduction in our needs for supply from the electric company and we are looking forward to seeing a return from the electricity generated during the sunnier months.

ASHP installed June 2023 along with Solar iBoost and car charger. Revisited several times to check and perform snagging. System is great when paired with PV, much better than a gas combi-boiler and we can make use of cheap night-time electricity from Octopus to charge batteries then use for the heating during the day.

They also sorted all paperwork for the government scheme and did an MCS cert for our solar PV so we can now get export payments which is definitely worth it during the summer months.

Really glad we chose a local company that want to do a good job for all the right reasons.

A very good service. The solar panels were fitted in a day and a half . The workers were very polite and helpful and they wasted no time! At the end of the installation everything was explained and the app set up and explained. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Service, the heat pump had an issue and they turned up the next day and sorted it without any hassle. They were like the SAS, in and out, job done and you wouldn’t have known they had been there.

Added battery storage to our existing solar pv and air source heat pump.
Survey no problem resulting in a competitive quote.
Installation completed in one day and the boss electrician came early the next morning (Saturday) to commission the system. Impressed with his skill in checking over the system to make sure all was in order and then his explanation of how to use the app to monitor the performance of the system.

We were looking for ways to save money on our energy bills and Abacus have fitted equipment that does just that. Michael was really helpful on the survey and we felt reassured at every step. The install itself went smoothly, we had regular communication with Kersha and the team, and the installers were friendly and efficient. We would absolutely recommend Abacus, thanks again!

Recently chose Abacus to install both Air Source and Solar panels on my house. Install was great and no constant sales calls in the first instance. Answered any questions I needed after deposit payments should I call into the office and always on hand.

After doing a bit of research I found Abacus. Gave them a call and Michael visited promptly. He gave us all the information we needed. After much deliberation, we decided to go ahead. Communication was so important to us and Michael gave us that. It allowed us to feel confident and in control. On site it turned out to be a more difficult install, but Alex and Kersha were brilliant and spoke to us throughout the job and this gave us piece of mind. The whole process was easy and if we had any questions they were answered quickly and the whole team gave us confidence. We are absolutely delighted with the job they have done… and the decreased bills we are now getting.

Honest reputable company which does what it says it will. Installation today very tidy and looks good. Michael very straightforward and trustworthy. Communication could have been better at times but did improve and work done on the dates agreed. Kersha very nice and helpful. Highly recommend this company!

I’m really pleased with the standard of the work and I would certainly recommend Abacus.
Michael came out initially and was very helpful with his advice. There was no salesman like pushiness.
Before the engineers arrived I had an idea how I hoped the solar panels, battery, inverter, and gubbins need to be placed and the wires taken from outside to inside. Without any input from me, the ‘Lead’ Engineer suggested the best way to do this and it matched my idea totally.
All was completed in one day, the workmanship was excellent, and any holes that had needed to be drilled for the wiring looked as if they were part of the original house build. Consequently when they left, other than a little dusting, there was little for me to do to tidy things.
Post installation there have been no problems with the system and all I’ve done is watch the app to see the kWh the panels are generating.
The only negative, but it would be unfair to remove a star for this, is the communications and updates regarding the wait for the installation were not forthcoming unless I rang up to ask.

Overall a good experience and I would recommend Abacus solutions.
From my perspective the communication at the time of the installation could have been improved. With scaffolding being erected and removed without a date given, the panel installation date confirmed etc.. The installation itself despite a few issues with the roof tiles was good.

Decided to go with Abacus firstly for a heat pump install, Michael came out and then recommended solar and battery installation. The heat pump installation went well and to time with the odd hiccup like after commissioning the cover was left off the heat pump outside. Communication was good. The solar and battery installation took a bit longer as there was some difficulty getting all the parts needed. The contractors who fitted the solar were very knowledgeable and did a great job. Overall happy with both installs.

I was unsure about using the company for Solar PV as all reviews had been for Heat Pumps, but Michael came out to survey and made me feel confident so I went ahead. After the deposit was paid communication was really poor. I didn't expect to wait the 6 or so weeks I was promised but it would have been nice to be kept up to date so I could plan other things around installation date. From here on almost all contact with the company was initiated by me. The installer, Sean from SC Energy (I think that is the name of the sub contractor) was very good. It was only a couple of days later that I realised the Bird Blocker was missing. When that was installed it was the wrong material so another visit was required, by which time the scaffolding had gone, so that had to go back up. The system seems fine, but no-one at Abacus seems to be able to answer my queries about the battery output (I appear to use grid even when battery is 100%). So, I guess from looking at other reviews that Abacus has more expertise with heat pumps than Solar PV. However, they did not try to fob me off with the Bird Blocker error and presumably incurred additional expense to put it right. So - it's been frustrating and time consuming and I have really needed to be on top of things (difficult when you have no experience of these things) but I think Abacus probably take a certain pride in making sure the job is well done in the end. But oh boy do they need to improve communications.

Contacted Abacus in May 2022 for a solar/battery quote. Michael did the survey and then sent the quotation and a detailed project report. Signed contract 7/6/22. Silence then ensued until I emailed 19/10/22 stating that I was considering cancelling install as I was getting no information. 17/11/22 I get an email and phone call saying they have had a cancellation and my install could be done 6/12/22. To my delight the scaffolders turned up 5/12/22, errected the scaffolding and the next day a team of installers turned up, then contactors, now a solar install company in their own right called Greenpower Renewable Solutions.
Post install everything has worked flawlessly and I've been very pleased with the system installed. Wasn't the extact same parts list as the quote but I'm not bothered. I'd also like to commend Kersha Archer who has gone above and beyond answering my questions and requests for the likes of an export MPAN no. to mention just one, a real credit to Abacus Energy.
If the initial communication re: ETA / delays had been as good as it has been with Kersha I'd have given 5 stars.
Overall very pleased with the end result

I went with Abacus Solutions as the reviews looked good and I wanted to support a local company, plus they could provide integrated panels as well as a decent battery. I was getting a new roof and wanted the panels to fit flush. I signed the contract, paid the deposit and waited.

I understood there was a large demand on the products but I wasn’t kept informed how it was progressing, possible installation dates or any delays and I had to constantly chase as my roofer was busy and I had limited space available so needed to book him in around the installation of the panels. The work only started after I suggested cancelling the contract, 6 months after signing.

Problems then began after fitting, as they installed the wrong wattage panels agreed in the contract which I only found out about as they could only fit 4 panels on one roof instead of the 5 quoted. I only found out the wattage after checking the label on the spare one which is still sitting in my back room waiting to be collected. Apparently there was a ‘problem’ with the software but they used the on top of tiles instead of inset part of it so it calculated incorrectly the amount of panels I could have. I also found from the installer (contracted) that I could have had more fitted if I’d had them on top of the roof which I wasn’t told about. The waterproofing lining on one side wasn’t fitted correctly which meant rain would run underneath the tiles. This was spotted by my roofers when they fitted the tiles after the panel install otherwise I wouldn’t have been aware. Also they used coach screws which caused my roofer problems trying to fit tiles over them and some of these have missed the joists and gone through the waterproof membrane, sticking out the loft which I’ll have to cut back.

As of today they still haven’t corrected the panels to replace the ones fitted and it’s now nearly five weeks since installation. I’ve had a couple of e-mails stating they would ring but it hasn’t happened yet. They didn’t contact my roofer to keep the scaffold in place so this has gone and the lining still needs dealing with – well they did try to fix it but left a gap in the middle which still needs sorting and doesn’t look good either. Also there is a problem with the solar generation as the wattage display on the software keeps fluctuating even though the weather doesn’t change so it’s either the software or the panels.

Still waiting for it all to be sorted.
