Terrible performance and even worse customer service. So, I cancelled and moved to another hosting company. Despite cancelling and removing all payment methods from the account, they processed a payment to my PayPal account for the full renewal cost and refused any possibility of a refund. This is not just unfriendly to customers, but is also known as fraud. This company will steal from you. Do not trust them

Had a website hosted by 4UKHost, apparently now part of this group. It couldn't manage to enable me to pay for my domain name, claiming it got an error trying to use my up to date credit card details on my account. It ended up asking me to transfer money to an American bank - not one of the services usually offered by UK banks online services. Meanwhilemy website displays an 'Account suspended' message. Now moving my website to a company that enables me to pay it easily.
Everything went OK for the first year, then when it came to renewal - even though they'd took payment - the domain somehow failed to renew and they had to do it manually. This had to be done by chat, the phone number on their website was answered by a recording in a foreign language. I was refused a number for tech support and it took days for them to get round to it. Needless to say I transferred the domain name away from them, and am now being hassled by repeated emails saying my card has been declined and asking me to pay for renewal of a domain name they don't even host now.
The web hosting is good quality, but billing and customer service is complete rubbish.
Terrible experience with 4ukhost. After they botched a server migration, leaving all 3 of my business sites hosted with them offline, the "support" were utterly incompetent and never managed to get my sites working again. We had to move to a new host after 4 days of no websites, no business and no money. Thousands of pounds lost in revenue.
All this time I was also emailing the owner / MD who not once even replied, let alone apologised.
I have given them time to refund nearly a full year's prepaid hosting (£470) they have not replied or answered the phone. I have reported this to Trading Standards and will hopefully be claiming for loss of earnings too.
Be warned also that at least one of the positive reviews on this site is fake. The owners name is Gary Agar, the first review. Hopefully that says more than enough about 4ukhost aside from this review.
