Avoid Wickes, avoid Wickes Stirling and their so called fitters.

I ordered a Wickes kitchen, total cost of purchase and fitting around £10k, to be fitted in February 2026. Catalogue of faults - design was not as agreed, wrong handles, but the worst was the fitters, who missed a day, then rushed to catch up, did a very poor job. The worktop join was placed 2" from the sink, then I was told not to get water on it. They did not consider the job, they just bashed on, did it as fast as possible without caring, all they were interested in was getting the kitchen bashed in so they could get onto 'the big job in Glescae' they had the following day. My 'small' job mattered nothing to them. I have sought redress from Wickes and despite a few emails back and forth with their legal department, Wickes have done nothing to resolve the situation and I'm stuck with a kitchen that doesn't really fit the flooring, the wrong handles, a poor quality cooker and hob that have permanent marks on the steel that cannot be cleaned off, and worst of all, a countertop with the joint right beside the sink...... It is disgusting and Wickes should be ashamed, Avoid Wickes Stirling, avoid any so called fitters from Bellshill. They will take your money and simply not care less.

Stirling - No help offered, no common sense.

Wanted to buy a dozen 100L bags of bark, parked the van in the car park near the pallet of bark that was sitting out there, took one into the til and asked them to put 12 through, boy refused. Said i had to take all 12 bags from the car park, into the store, then back to the car park. Asked if he could put 12 through and then watch me take 12 bags from outside (store was empty) but he said no. No help offered. Ended up buying 20 bags of bark frrom The Range in Falkirk, where two employees loaded my van at the warehouse with the bags. Day and night customer service.

Visited store for info about hobs

Visited store for info about hobs, sinks and taps. Girl in kitchen dept was very unhelpful, not at all engaging and actually stoned faced and rude. Repeatedly said it’s on the website when we asked about anything without any further information volunteered about the products we enquired about. I’ve been into Wicks twice, the last time several months ago, quite possibly the same employee. Presumably a customer facing role requires an amiable and engaging personality, which this girl does not possess. If your sales are low this is why. Sorry Wickes never again.

CORRECT CHOICE BY FAR!

After comparing a few of the established kitchen suppliers we opted for Wickes as in our mind they had the right design and choice for us.
From the moment we sat with Louise we knew we were dealing with someone with great knowledge let alone expertise in kitchen design and fitting. Her advice and examples were superb which gave us great confidence in what we were about to embark on. Even her advice was not an over sell, if anything the opposite which in this day and age in sales is a rarity.
After we ordered our choice, the communication was fantastic too along with the visit of the fitting squad who again gave us sound advice especially relating to our flooring choice which proved correct.
When fitting day arrived the team was on time, got stuck in and from start to finish done a fantastic job and worked as a team each day clearing up all mess – especially the final day leaving us with a fantastic new kitchen to be proud of.
We are delighted with everything including the cost and could not fault anything about this project. So both my wife and I would highly recommend Wickes if you are considering a new kitchen – you will not regret it.

Kitchen upgrade

When looking to upgrade our existing kitchen, Jasmine from the Stirling store was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. She came and took measurements and our ideas on board then came up with a design/layout that would incorporate everything we wanted and needed.

Cracking service

Very disappointing!

We booked what I understood to be a meeting with a design consultant.
We drove 2.5 hours to get to the branch, our closest one. I spoke to the person in the branch only to find out that they would show us around the kitchens they had available and NOT a design meeting! A complete waste of our time.

Forthcoming and helpful

I had been to several shops and struggled to get the shade I wanted in the paint type and volume I needed. Steven at the Stirling Wicks was forthcoming and helpful. He found the right shade and mixed up the paint I needed, even giving it an extra mix to ensure it was thoroughly blended. Not a place I would normally think of but would definitely recommend based on my experience today.

Jasmine was very helpful and has been extremely responsive in helping with queries. She’s bent over backwards to help with any anomalies. The deliveries have been on time and she has helped coordinate this. Great advice and responsiveness. Can’t ask for more.

Few problems with wrong components delivered but were rectified quickly.

Six-week delay caused by Wickes’ failure to deliver critical items

I contacted Wickes in May to arrange a bathroom renovation. Installation was eventually scheduled for January, with all materials due by 8 January so work could start on 12 January.

This did not happen. Many items — including a critical one (the wet room tray, which is not a stock item but made to order) — were not delivered on time. Wickes later acknowledged that this should have been identified in advance. As a result, the installation could not start as planned.

I was not informed in time about the missing item and relied on the dates provided by Wickes, which led to avoidable disruption and financial loss, including booking non-refundable accommodation.

Deliveries were delayed and incomplete, with the last items arriving around a week after the promised date. The installation has now been postponed by six weeks due to Wickes’ failure. Materials were left stored unsafely, including tiles left outside exposed to the weather, creating a risk of damage and theft, as well as the risk of me being charged by building management for storing materials in communal areas.

I live in a small flat with an autistic child, which makes safe storage of large and hazardous building materials inside the home impossible.

Communication and coordination from Wickes customer service have been very poor, with long periods of no response (the last contact from them was six days ago, and my most recent email remains unanswered). Even after all items were finally delivered, there was no timely plan for collection, storage, or next steps.

This experience has been extremely stressful, exhausting, and largely avoidable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Wickes for large installation projects.

Update: Five days after Wickes requested further information via Trustpilot and I provided the details privately, the only response I received was a generic apology email with no investigation outcome, no resolution plan, and no further contact.

Final update (April 2026):

Following a complaint to the Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman (FHIO), Wickes agreed to cancel the contract in full.

I have now received a full refund of all amounts paid (£11,530.76 in total), including separately purchased tiles, reimbursement of accommodation costs (£410.30), and a £100 goodwill payment.

It is also worth noting that these funds were held by Wickes for several months, during which time they were not available to me and could not accrue any interest.

While I appreciate that the financial outcome has now been resolved, this only happened after significant time, effort, and escalation. The overall experience — delays, poor communication, and lack of coordination — remains extremely disappointing.

I would still not recommend Wickes for large installation projects based on this experience.

Charity work with Lunar Eclipse Therapy Horses

What started as two horses in a horsebox parked in the Wickes Stirling car park—while we popped in for advice on paint for our stable doors—turned into something quite extraordinary. We were met by the most incredible, and at the time unknown to us, store manager who offered so much friendly help and guidance. From there, our relationship has grown. The team at Wickes are incredibly knowledgeable, warm and supportive, and we are genuinely overwhelmed by their generous help as we bring our historic home back to life and help us create our wellness center. Stephen Waddell community champion and jasmine Geor have gone above and beyond to help us. Jasmine made our donated kitchen measuring so simple and easy, from measuring to design to emailed visual absolutely seemless. We are beyond grateful for everything this branch has done for this local company . 5 stars all the way.

Amazing kitchen and excellent design consultant

We recently purchased a kitchen from Wickes in stirling and it looks amazing, we are very impressed with the quality and workmanship. We dealt with Louise Bryce the design consultant, she deserves a big shout out for her excellent customer service and knowledge. She was extremely professional when she came to our home to help us design our kitchen, she was pleasant and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her.
