If you go in to branch be advised there are options in contracts, I was not and it was decided for me to go on to a fixed contract.
I hadn’t ever used a storage space before so had no idea there where options of contracts, so I was given a contract to use the storage space and sorted my direct debit and went on my way, 7 months later found a place to move to.
So I checked on the website about leaving and saw you need to tell them 14 days before the billing cycle, great!
Let them know and I was told “I chose the fixed contract” and then told I needed to pay over £1000 to leave.
The person in branch made that call without mentioning options, interesting as by the looks of it a company hiding information about a flexible plan/ contract is illegal.
So I have currently been told pay over £1000 to leave or as a courtesy to me I can pay an extra £810 plus fee to cover what a flexible contract would be / minus discounts basically!
But no the pricing is not transparent or easy to find, you have to be quoted, so look around.
My advice is to use shurgard as looking up now it’s a leave anytime and cheaper for a 50 sq ft than the 40 sq ft I am currently stuck paying for till January now.
So another company is a flexible from the get go, FAR cheaper, and more storage for your money!
So my personal opinion is avoid!!!

BAD FAITH COMPANY
This company is all about the contract. They hide in the email and at the time of signing the contact there is no verbal communication with you about their terms. I terminated my contract, at no point did they tell me verbally that by terminating the contract that there would be no refund. The manager at safestore Crawley is obnoxious and frustrating to deal with. Apparently they do offer out of hours service, but don"t explain it you. AVOID AVOID AVOID. The company may appear cheap BUT THERE IS A REASON! They
● Do not offer any discounted van hire unlike Storage King.
● They bill on a 4 week cycle
● They will charge you for unused time
● They may be cheaper becuase they have hidden costs for comparable services.
Last remark AVOID. The manager believes that a few good remarks are enough for the bad comments.
The last response was unnecessary as the manager was very glib about it, and told me that he didn't care about my point of views as there many other great comments. PLEASE ALL HEED my comments.
