I have been asked to update my review to reflect the site itself. The site is clean and tidy, the staff have always been helpful when i have spoken to them

I have however just seen their response which is a little disingenuous. I know that there is a notice period, which i acknowledged in my email. The fact that it can only be handled on specific dates is, as I said ridiculous. If you acknowledge that the notice can be confusing, maybe you should either simplify the process

Ridiculous termination process
The site for storage itself is good. Spotlessly clean and secure. I’ve gone to give notice and I’ve been told I can only do it between the 6th and 12th of next month. Apparently their system can’t cope. So now I have to make a calendar reminder to send the same email I’ve already sent! Ridiculous

Safe Store Carshalton Review: Sucker Punch Price Hikes & Exit Blockade
They start strong to hook you in—after the 8-week boat price promo, I paid £210/month for over 2 years with no loyalty discount. After a year the malicious hikes kicked in every 2-3 months, jumping to £325 within a year.
When I objected and gave notice to leave, their true colors showed: they levied unlawful late fees by overpulling direct debit, blocked my exit, and restricted goods access as punishment. Business-hours-only access made relocation nearly impossible with zero notice time.
Forced into dual storage I couldn't afford, I defaulted and paid them later. Avoid Safe Store—predatory small-business tactics from start to finish.

Your reply is untrue and not reflective of the true situtation i had an account with you for 2 years and had consistently paid on time your. The deficit has come as a disagreement occuring in the Month of April only.

Amazing and professional customer service by Rolston. Highly recommend to visit store instead of booking online to get you moving same day you decide to get a storage space.

Just started buying up abandoned storage units and quickl;y found myself needing a unit of my own.
Considered several places but ended up with Safestore in Carshalton.
Started 2/3 weeks ago, got to say I am very happy with the decision I made. Not only is it the nearest facility to my house but Amit, Sean and Ralston have all given good advice and helped me tremendously.
I really cannot praise them enough.

Clean storage facilities. Access hours good. The staff there were always helpful. Plenty of parking available. Only had to wait once for a trolley and that’s because one group were selfishly hogging them all.

Amit, Sean & Gerald are always very professional but also very friendly and welcoming. Every time I visit it’s a very pleasant experience. The best Safestore I’ve been too because of these guys!

This company are the worst. I rent a unit from them and I got quoted £133 per month and now after a letter saying that they changed the name of the insurance but failed to tell me they up the rent by £13. Then when I told them that I can no longer afford the unit they said I need to pay till the end of the contract up front. That was over £1000. That as I am struggling financially I couldn't pay so they forced me to stay. Also when I hot the unit I got told that I could upgrade or downgrade. But when I wanted to they said I couldn't.

This is the worst storage company ever, they are not accommodating and lie to you all the time.

I would NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WHO WANTS A UNIT as they are nothing but trouble.

I went to the Carshalton Branch and was treated very poorly by a sales associate called “Sean” I honestly would not recommend this store. I felt discriminated against because of the colour of my skin. I also observed other customers being spoken to completely different and in a more respectful way compared to me. Please avoid at all costs

I highly recommend Safestore Carshalton for the competence and friendliness of its staff and convenience and security of its premises. Sean from Safestore Carshalton guided me from my initial phone call to the selection of the right room size and loading logistics, leaving no question unanswered. Even more so, he anticipated and alleviated potential concerns. I was offered an attractive price and flexibility in the choice of the room size and use of the room. I now have the confidence and peace of mind to have found the best storage for my luggage.
