Darren is the best!

Visited Millets to buy my son trecking gear for a trip to Borneo. The list was extensive- but Darren, with a great deal of patients and expert knowledge, sorted us out. Working within our budget and making sure we left with just the right stuff for the trip.

Visited today for a ‘quick look’ & you can guess how that went haha! Me & my other half were looking at some camping gear for a trip we have coming up & that’s when delightful Darren came over & asked if we needed any assistance. He gave us awesome recommendations & taught us a few things about camping gear that we wouldn’t have known ourselves!
We ended up leaving with a spectacular tent which suited our needs🥰

Darren was so helpful and knowledgeable when I went into the store to buy sleeping bags. He took his time to explaining the pros and cons of all the options and helped me decide what was better for our needs. I've always found the staff at the St Albans staff very helpful and friendly.

We went in to Millets to get equipment for our son’s DofE expedition. We were given very sound and informed advice and guidance by Darren on the best equipment and thus avoided unnecessary expense. Both Darren and Rob got us sorted on items from rucksack to food items in a relatively quick time. Thank you!

Just popped in as my son has his Silver DOE coming up, Darren made things very easy for us. Took the list and walked us around the store trying things on for size, advising us what we need and what we didn’t. Spent a lot on f time helping us and then applied a discount for DOE combatants. I was not looking forward to trawling around the shops, so to get everything in one place with great service and advice, coupled with reasonable cost was a win win for everyone.

Visited today looking for water shoes for my daughter. Dareen was extremely helpful and remembered that there were 1 or 2 pairs in the stockroom.
He searched for them and found the exact shoe size and perfect colour! Excellent service!

Darren was a life saver at the St Albans branch. Helped us pick the right gear for DoE and had really helpful tips for us on what to expect, the pros and cons of the equipment we bought and did so with a smile.

Having undertaken some product research before going to the shop, it was reassuring that the lady who served me, Sophie, knew her product and sold me the boots that I wanted and were best for my use rather than trying to up-sell a more expensive pair. Good shop with a range of gear for all budgets, staff who know about their stock and a no-pressure environment.

Helpful and expert advice from Darren and Rob, who then sourced me the best value walking poles for my forthcoming trip.

Went to Millets in the Maltings, St. Albans today to get my son kitted out for his Bronze DofE. The staff were excellent, so knowledgeable, helpful and went above and beyond. Darren especially was fantastic, totally understood my budget limitations and had a great rapport with my son. Thankyou so much. I feel I didn’t have any idea of what the DofE involved and thankfully, now because of Darren and the team at Millets I feel a little more in the know! A full 5 stars.

My son and I went in with no idea at all what was good or bad for his bronze DofE, and our server, Rob, helped us so well and with immense expertise.
