STEER CLEAR OF POWAY HERTZ
The Hertz in Poway ca. is the absolute worst. This time I reserved a standard size SUV for one week. When I got there it took forever as usual. When they brought the car to the front I asked if it was a standard size SUV and they said yes. (It was some sort of Kia ) I said I don’t think so it looks small. They finally admitted it wasn’t but they did not have a standard size. We went around and around. I then asked them to give me the next size up from standard as I googled on hertz the scenario and that’s what it seems protocol would be. They refused even though they had the larger suv. They said they’d give me a quarter tank of gas as compensation. what a joke. I asked for manager. The young man said he was the manager. I asked for a regional manager and of course one wasn’t there. FINALLY they suddenly had the right size SUV that I had reserved. Basically this was a bait and switch that they tried to pass off on me. I will never use hertz again. Also the cars are always half *** Clean. Horrible washing jobs. I went and washed it myself when I left hertz. I’m glad I got this reminder to review. I meant to email up the chain of command which I will now do. I will use enterprise from now on. They are always fantastic even though higher priced. I guess it’s true you get what you pay for.
