I initially did not get the car I wanted but it wasn't that big of a deal as the replacement was okay for what was needed. However, returning the car was horrible. Firstly, I was celebrating getting into law school and used (very obviously) car chalk and was talked down to by the guys at the rental return saying it was inappropriate to "write on the car" even after being told it's commonly used chalk and can be washed off with water. Secondly, we left house keys on the key chain and no one gave us a call, did not answer our multiple (7+ calls) a day (calls immediately hang up & no option for voicemail), and then gave us a hard time when we came in person. Lastly, I was overcharged for my rental. I had the car about 4 days but was charged for 7. I should have been charged between $300-400 and instead was charged close to $900. The manager said I would get my refund days ago and I have yet to see anything on my credit card.
New problem every day. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

I did not want to drive basically a limousine through the streets of NYC/upstate, not to mention how much gas would cost. But I had to take what I could get. They gave me a car with a dying key fob. The key fob died and we were stranded because the car would not turn on without it. We walked over a mile to replace the battery ourselves. There was no cap on the back left tire air valve and the tire leaked the entire trip. We had to fill it multiple times because we kept getting a “low PSI” message. We called 3 different hertz locations to see if we could switch the car out. Only one answered and they had no cars. Hertz has yet to respond to my claim with any help. DO NOT USE HERTZ.
