I experienced excellent customer service whilst shopping for a new jacket; Nion was very personable and had great knowledge of the stock.

Jack was very knowledgeable about the different options for walking boots (e.g., style; fabric vs. leather) and provided some top tips for working out the right size needed, ways to lace the boots for flat terrain vs. hill walking, and how to care for the leather boots I ended up buying. Thanks!

Had a pleasure of being served by John as I was looking for some items to help towards my ski trip I am going on this month and my knowledge on skiing is very little! John was incredibly kind, patient, and gave me some great advice on what things I could get to help me. More people like John please!

We popped in asking advice on good waterproof jackets for walking in, the guys (Saddia, Julie and Jack) were brilliant! They just did a great job, extremely knowledgeable on their products, really friendly and helpful. We chatted about our options for a while, we weren’t given a ‘hard sell’ but great advice, a breath of fresh air…….

I bought a pair of walking boots yesterday. Jack was really friendly and helpful, gave me great advice on which were best for me. He was not at all pushy, just gave me the info I needed, and he was very knowledgeable about all the products. Bought them yesterday, took them on a 6 mile walk today and they were great, exactly what I wanted. Thanks!

I bought a pair of walking boots with the advice of Jack. He offered a choice of what I wanted and was able to professionally unwrap which would be the most suitable, without any attempt to unduly influence me.

John was both really knowledgeable about his stock and impressively concerned about the boots I chose fitting correctly, actually measuring my feet and providing a means to check that the boots were still comfortable when I was going up or downhill.

Nion assisted us today to buy a coat for my son, he was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Today we were served by the most helpful lady. The customer service we received was second to none and she couldn't have been more helpful. Sadly we didn't take her name but we understand she might have been the store manager. Whilst helping us, she was managing the store so well and honestly, we couldn't have been happier with the service we received. Thank you so much, our shopping experience was so brilliant.

Found what I was looking for really quickly, & in the right size. Great service as well.

I needed a new pair of walking boots. We were served by Jack, who was very helpful. I chose a pair of Berghaus boots (a brand that I like) but as usual I thought the insoles lacked sufficient cushioning. Jack was very patient and helped me try out three different insoles - I finally settled on a pair of Grangers insoles. When it came to payment I was disappointed that Blacks no longer offer a discount for National Trust members. However, Jack was able to get me a better deal by matching to the online price, so I ended up very happy. Walking boots need to be comfortable so I won’t buy online.
