This is the worst case of customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life; I work with customer service on a daily basis.

My bike was recently stolen, tough luck. Luckily I made sure to insure it. I have bought bikes since I was 18, had some of them stolen, so on and so forth, the standard life of a bicyclist.

In Europe, in Denmark, in any country (at least within the European Union) a seller (bikeshop) is required to store the frame number of the bicycles they sell, they are also required to state it on the invoice related to the sale of a bike - bike-discount.de does not adhere to these laws!

I found this out, by contacting them, cause I was confused I didn't find the frame number on my invoice, neither was it on any of the documentation I got from bike-discount.

So I wrote them, requesting the frame number, so I could give it to the police and my insurance company - They just reply "We do not store the frame numbers". Technically and factually that is illegal. I fought very hard with them to hand over the information, alas to no good. The case is currently being revised by my lawyer and a lawsuit is being prepared towards bike-discount.

In principle bike-discount stole my bike; cause they didn't sell me a bike, they sold me a identityless commodity; which a bike isn't, it is required by law to have a frame number, like a car is required to have a license plate.

A commodity with a traceable number, should have this number stated on all documents referring to the items engross purchase, further sale and future sale, that includes any invoices, repair statements etc. In all conclusion bike-discount is running an illegal business, not adhering to any of the commerce laws regarding identifiable items via serial numbers, frame numbers or DIN numbers. It would be like Apple not putting the IMEI number on a purchase receipt; IT IS ILLEGAL!

Do not use or support bike-discount, they run an illegal business and will not support you in case the bike is stolen - They simply turn the blind eye, thank you for your money, but you can take a hike is what they are saying!
