Not quality checked before delivery, product dirty and not initially working

My delivery arrived and when I opened the box it smelled musty and dirty. I took the iPod out and seen that it was filthy. Not only this but the wrong charging cable was with it and it wouldn’t turn on. I complained straight away. Now it turned on after being charged for 24hrs. I explained all of this in my email and then referred to a partial refund. I was basically told that this is not something they do. Im disgusted, if this was any other product I’d be returning but this is a product that is discontinued. Terrible service.

Considering the nature of our business, we have quality measures in place where along with functionality of the product, items are checked before dispatch to ensure they are in a clean and saleable condition with the correct essential accessories included. It appears that these checks were missed, and we extend our apologies for this experience.

I have noticed that along with feedback forwarded to the sending store management for internal assessment, my colleague assisted you via email and sourced the correct charging cable for you.

Prices good, stock not up to date

I liked the prices, however after ordering multiple items are not available or unable to be found which is frustrating.

Our stores always aim to fulfil customer orders, and we have procedures in place to verify product specifications while processing them. However, there are occasions where a store may identify that an item is incorrect or not suitable for sale. In such cases, the item is cancelled to avoid the inconvenience of the customer having to return it later.

Please be assured that customers are not charged for unfulfilled items, and any funds reserved by the bank are typically released back within 10 working days.

For click & collect orders, customers are required to present a valid physical ID at the time of collection so that the staff can verify and ensure that the order is with the correct customer as these are prepaid. Regarding your order, as the item could not be fulfilled by the selected store for collection, it was routed for home delivery based on the secondary option chosen at the time of placing the order.

In Store service perfect, Online is useless

I got the wrong order delivered online help had no meaningful help but the local guys in Tralee helped me in 20min to refund the wrong item and i got the desired item in better condition and way better customer experience,

decent, but image on website was wrong

I just needed a basic switch 1 case so I ordered one online. The parcel came quickly but the product was inaccurate with the image shown on the website. It was completely different from what I thought I was getting.

It didn't particularly matter as I just needed the case. But Cex should do better to make sure the images on their website reflect what you are actually getting. I've bought online from cex before and have always been pleased, so this was the first time I encountered something like this but I still think it's important to note.
