very impressed - fast, quality, easy to work with -

We ordered a memory quilt for a xmas gift and all other places said it was 6 - 8 weeks, which meant we could not get it in time for xmas. Younique Boutique turned it aroiund in a week! No, we didn't pay for a rush either. They were very easy to work with - Terry was very helpful. The quilt is beautiful! My only suggestion is that the batting in the quilt could be thicker - I somewhat expected a thicker quilt, but other than that - it's beautiful. Great Job YB!!!

short, but not sweet

Ok, I know this is going to sound vindictive, but the truth hurts.
Sonce no one wants to read a ten paragraph review, here as the lowlights.
Ordered the wedding topper nearly two months before the wedding. took TYBINC forever to send proofs. Constantly were told they were close, and the we would hear from them soon. Finally got the proofs about 2 weeks before the wedding, and 2 out of the three dogs were wrong, as was the color of the grooms suit. (ironically the one custom dog was right). Were again told the artist would correct, and the topper would be on its way withing a couple of days. Topper wasn't shipped until 2 days before the wedding, and since it was coming from china (which was never mentioned) IT DIDN'T ARRIVE until after the wedding date. Thus no topper.
I will say they were quick to apologize, and offer to refund the money. But as usual they ran into problems with that. Our two month anniversary is in 3 days, and we finally got the credit today.
So to summarize TYBINC had our money for approximately 4 months, & we didn't have a topper for the wedding. I cannot imagine using TYBINC for anything again, and would never let anyone I know use them.

Outstanding product and service

I ordered a signature plate last week, with a special request on the design, and I received it yesterday in the mail. I just want to tell you it is absolutely adorable and we love it! Thank you so much for doing it so promptly, so perfectly! and for shipping it so carefully so it wouldn't break. I will definitely recommend you to anyone who needs a unique gift idea. Company should not advertise what they are unable to deliver!

I ordered my wedding cake topper on August 21, 2012 for my wedding on October 27, 2012 - more than enough time TYBINC requires (6 weeks) and even wiggle room to perfect my product. Unfortunately, after several phone calls reaching out to the company for a status or even some acknowledgement of my emails I did not hear back from the company until 3 weeks later. At that point in time, they sent me 2 proofs which looked nothing like myself or my fiance at the time. In a bit of a panic, I called and notified them that the moldings were VERY off (I am asian and the molding looked caucasian!) and responded to their email with very specific details on what should be corrected. I waited several days and did not hear back from anyone. I called after 3 days, I believe, and was told that their artist was on vacation! It was odd (and inefficient) to me that there was only 1 artist (who is located in China, btw) available to handle orders! So I waited a week later with persistent phone calls which were not returned until 2 days later. I was told by Terri that because of "their systems being down" that there was a delay! (Just so everyone knows, I would call at noon EST and was told photos were being downloaded and not receive anything from them until 6pm that same day - so you can imagine the grueling amount of time it takes to make any type of progress) - Long story short, after close to 20 revisions, the artist was still unable to create something that even remotely came close to resembling me! I was totally stressed out and now it is 1 week before my wedding. FYI.. I noted in my original order that I wanted this topper no later than Oct. 20th as you can imagine a cake topper is the last thing any bride wants to worry about before her wedding! I was told the artist would re-do "me - the bride" over, which I thought was insane because if he couldnt get it right in Aug. when he had 11 weeks to do it, then why on earth would I think he could do it in 1 weeks time??? So now 1 week before my wedding, I have no cake topper and certainly no faith in TYBINC that the can get this done. Fast forward to Wednesday (2 days before my wedding) I was sent another proof that looked just as bad as the first one and I am saying to myself "why did i spend so much money on a cake topper that doesnt look like us??" and wished I had never entertained the idea. Just so everyone knows how untalented the artist is - I uploaded a NY Giants Jersey to them and they could not even paint the jersey correctly! The topper was finally overnighted to me, without my final approval, for receipt on Thursday morning. As expected - they look nothing like us, my last revisions were disregarded and to boot, they did not completely finish the topper. They did not insert a nail underneath the bride which meant there was nothing to hold the figurine in place on the plate! I had to run out (now 1 day before my wedding) to buy double sided tape to tape the bride to the base in hopes that the wedding hall would not drop it and break it! In conclusion, this topper is NOT subjective as Terri kept telling me over the phone since I had 10 of my coworkers look every proof each time I was sent something from them and all 10 colleagues agreed that it did not even resemble me! Furthermore, this company should not offer a product that they cannot provide and in hindsight, had I known this process would have been this stressful I would never have even initiated this. I do agree with the previous reviewer that this is a great concept - only if they are able to execute and deliver a cake topper that looks you. It is now 3 weeks after my wedding and New York is recovering from Hurricane Sandy. I thought about contacting the company to dispute the charge or even have them redo/correct my cake topper, but the agony of going back and forth with them at this point is just too much so I will just cut my losses. I am now stuck with a cake topper sitting on my mantle that looks nothing like us, I am out $200+ dollars and memories of a very stressful experience dealing with TYB. I would recommend anyone planning a wedding or a timely event to look for other options if possible - anyone can call themselves "an artist", but the big difference here is that TYB lacks "talented artists". There is no doubt they are all very hard workers, however you should not offer a product you cannot deliver and certainly not specify a 6 week deadline when you cannot even come close to meeting it. Would I do it all over again? Absolutely NOT!

After 20 revisions and countless hours on the phone, this customer is still leaving my company and hard working employees a 1 star review.

What a super unfair account of what happened. This customer was very difficult and hostile to work with. My associate asked if we could cancel the order so that she wouldn't have to deal with her on a daily basis - because we literally called and worked with her daily. She drove her customer service rep to tears more than once.

With very limited time, our artists worked around the clock to make this bride happy with her cake topper. We even resculpted the bride's head free of charge for her because she insisted it did not look like her.

We do everything we can to deliver on time. That is the bottom line. Leave us 3 weeks to complete the project (it takes 2-3 weeks to send the first set of face proofs because each order requires 8-10 hours) including shipping and delivery time and we still work as hard as we can to ensure satisfaction. Unfortunately, with art and a subjective matter such as a bride's face, we cannot assure 100% satisfaction all the time. We cut our losses with this one as well. I believe our gallery with thousands of beautiful custom cake toppers speaks for itself.

USE YOUNIQUE BOUTIQUE. A truly amazing company

I don't think there is 1 bad thing that went wrong with my ordering process of the photo quilt. The site is easy to use and I really liked that they had picture of ALL the different quilt options.

As soon as I placed my order I had an immediate response from Terri asking if I needed clarification, she even called me!

I must have ordered at the perfect time because made my quilt within a week or so and I got it ASAP and loved it! I haven't given it to my mom yet but I can already see the water works as she opens a large, nice quality throw quilt with all of my old family pictures.

100% review for Younique Boutique. Highly recommended. THANK YOU GUYS!!

A great idea, unsuccessfully carried out

This company has a great concept, but they are unable to deliver. I ordered my cake topper 2 months before my wedding. They told me I would have it in 6 weeks. They waited to the last moment to make my cake topper. They mailed my cake topper before I could approve it. I received it 3 days before my wedding (talk about stressful). The hair color was incorrect and bald in places. The base was scratched. Then it took over a month to get a refund and that was only after several phone calls and emails. These people do not mean what they say and say what they mean. I would not work with them again!!!

While we understand your disappointment, I don't believe this is a fair assessment of the situation. We allow a fully photo proofed process on our custom cake toppers and allow unlimited revisions as time allows. Making revisions will definitely delay the process and while we can ship a cake topper in as soon as 2 weeks with an express order, obviously making revisions will stretch that time period out. We let our customers know what's happening with production every step of the way and if the customer elects to make revisions, it may mean that we have to ship at some point without your final approval in order to make your event.

As a company that has made over 5,000 custom wedding cake toppers to date and has been operational since 2002, we take great pride in our work. We are family owned and operated. We are honored to be part of a couple's special day. However, with the nature of custom work created by hand, some things are out of our control and quality is often subjective. We're sorry that your order didn't work out to your satisfaction but that is certainly not a reflection of our business as a whole.

Great cake toppers, great customer service!! Except for a couple snags, we were happy with the experience!

We ordered our custom cake toppers about 6 weeks before our wedding and asked if it would be possible to rush our order since we live in Dubai and would be traveling abroad for our wedding. Terri was extremely helpful and reassured us that we would receive the toppers in time. We got photo proofs and were able to change some features to our liking.

We ordered the Arab groom but the first proof did not match the picture on the site (it was missing the headdress). I called Terri and she rush ordered a redo. The cake toppers arrived well packed and in time. They are really cute! The only thing I did not like was the sticker with our names and date on the base - it looked cheap and even fell off after a day. A metal nameplate or engraving would have been better.

Overall we are happy with our cake toppers and now they are a super cute memento of our wedding!

Perfect gift - very helpful employees!

Like I said perfect gift. I had a little bit of difficulty with website because of personalization - to be honest it was probably me! In saying that I contact the Company both by email & phone. They could not have been more helpful! I appreciated all the help & assistance. The picture I purchased was really nice. I was very pleased all around. I got it on time too! Thanks so much for a wonderful memory for my son & future daughter-in-law.

Person loved quilt

Person we gave the quilt to loved it. My only unhappiness was that the order was submitted over 3 weeks before I wanted it....but they must have waited until about the last minute to do it---then they ran into problems...like at first didn't have the material color I wanted (they called and said I needed to pick another color to get it on time, but then did receive it, so they made it the color I requessted) and then they called back the day they should have shipped it and said they had printer problems. I received the quilt the night before I was to give it to the person....4 days after requested. By the time I got home from work, I did not have time to go out and get pretty stuff to wrap it with. I abhor last minute planning--and think that when they do not deliver as promised that at least they could offer some form of gift or discount or something for the inconvenience they cause by waiting until the last minute to start on a project for which they had plenty of notice when the deadline was.

Couldn't imagine better people to work with

The staff at TYB is simply brilliant. They are smart, helpful and very patient. I called multiple times to ask questions, change things about my order, and to keep asking when it will arrive - in short, I was an annoying customer. They were unruffled and stayed helpful the entire time.

The blanket we ordered arrived on time, and is a high quality product. The pictures all turned out great.

50th Anniversary Thumbprint Tree

My sister and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, September 8, 2012. My sons and their families and my husband and I presented them with this Thumbprint tree the evening before and we arranged for all of her guests to place their thumbprints on it at the celebration. They were absolutely thrilled with the idea, the guests thought it was wonderful and it turned out beautiful. It will hold a very special place in their home and a great reminder of the celebration for their 50th.

Good product

I was a little disappointed in the shipping time, I ordered by product and even paid extra for express shipping. I received my product about 3 days after my event. I was really pleased however with the product and it was worth the wait.

Nice product, poor communication/customer service

I ordered an aisle runner for a friend on a Wednesday. When reviewing the order details I realized I had requested name of bride and name of groom, and bride wanted name of groom and name of bride - in that order. I quickly e-mailed the "representative" assigned to my order requesting the correction be made. I live on the east coast - but I also work 12hr shifts. I was not able to call during business hours due to my schedule. 2 days later I still had not received a response. I decided to call on the weekend, since I happened to be off, and left a message. I received a call back Monday - and the rep stated they had received my message and she was trying to get in touch with the artist to make sure my order was correct. I got a call back Tuesday, and the rep stated the order was done, and was about to be shipped - but no corrections had been made. I was NOT happy. I called the next day and spoke to the rep - said I felt I had done my due diligence by e-mailing and calling - yet the order had still been processed without the change. She stated the artist said it fit better with the brides name first, because of the # of characters, etc. In other words, they decided to change the order of names without asking me, without checking with me, and then just shipped the product. Thankfully my friend, the bride, was ok with the way it turned out, but this is still no excuse for not getting in touch with me about any changes. The rep did not offer me anything - I stated that I felt if the bride didn't like it, they would have to replace it at their expense - but the rep said there wasn't much she could do and to please check with the bride. Poor customer service, in my opinion. I'm not sure if the rep has ever been a bride herself - and doesn't understand how important details are in a wedding. You don't want to pay for something, expect it to turn out a certain way, and then be surprised with a product that wasn't what you had asked for - especially not on your wedding day - one of the most important days of your life! Very poor communication in my opinion - for a product that is not cheap. Definitely would not recommend this to another bride.

It was still beautiful

I am disappointed in the results. Part of it may be my fault because I started an order online with everything I wanted but they could not find it when I finally ordered it on the phone. I was reassured that every detail would be confirmed. I kept looking at the pictures they sent and I couldn't figure out why it didn't look the way I expected. Besides the fact that they have a hard ime with faces of African descent, I noticed that Wonder Woman did not have on the skirt I requested and instead she had on the briefs. I was afraid that would happen and so I emailed them and told them on the phone that I wanted the skirt but they still missed it. They did offered to redo the body but it was 9 days before my wedding and I don't need extra drama.When it arrived I saw that the nameplate that cost 15 dollars was a sticker that wasn't put on quite right. For 15 dollars I expected something engraved or at least more pemanent. Online I requested purple flowers but I didn't realize that we never discussed flowers until the topper arrived. I should have redid my order. I thought they would ask me the same questions that were asked online but they didn't and so flowers weren't discussed and I didn't remember to add them (flowers must not have cost extra or they would have remembered.) It is my fault as the bride for not remembering but it is their fault for not having the same options on the phone that they had online.The topper had some type of powder on it.(not a big deal but when the bride has one big thing that is disappointing every little thing is dissappointing.) I was willing to deal with their difficulty in reproducing faces of people of African descent because nevertheless the toppers are cute. But thinking about the faces,the skirt,the nameplate, I won't add the flowers because that may be my fault, but I am not fully satisfied for the price I paid. For 100 dollars less it would have been worth it. I can't remember every detail and for 240 dollars you'd think they could communicate better. I depended on them to really help me when there are so many other things I am responsible for. The cake toppers are still cute and I am sure we will receive lots of compliments but for 240 dollars not worth it.

Awesome!

We are so excited about our unique cake topper. Its different without going off the wall. It's one of those perfect details that says we are traditional without being boring.
At every stage of our cake topper we were asked to review the current work and approve or make changes as it went along. This was absolutely fantastic and very catered to each individual. No request goes without consideration and the final product is beautiful and fun. Younique Boutique is extremely taleneted and is doing it better than all the rest.

We really love our wedding cake topper! The Little Mini-Us's look exactly like us and are so adorable. It's going to look so funny on our cake at the wedding! haha!

Awesome cake topper

I needed a very special cake topper for a very special cake. I wanted a clay figure with my husband's face. I searched on google, talked to a few people but wasn't comfortable that they would be up for the job. Then I found Younique Boutique. It was a great, stress-free experience. They are totally professional. I emailed a couple of photos of my husband along with an image of the pose that I wanted. After a few emails back and forth, including photo proofs and approvals at each major step, I received the perfect cake topper, exactly to my specifications and in plenty of time for the party. My husband loved it, and the guests at our event couldn't believe how much it looked like him! If I ever need something like this again, I will definitely return to Younique Boutique.
